005   deb ball day one

Caroline anxiously looked around again. Belly was late and that was not the best way to make a first impression. She had been at the country club helping to set up, because for some reason someone who was just being paid for dance moves had to work in other ways as well.

She wasn't having fun. Firstly, her nicest outfit somehow found it's way into her dads suitcase and since he wasn't in town, she had no way of getting it. So Caroline had to borrow something of Mags' and it just wasn't her style at all.

Next, she felt more like an assistant to Paige than an employee, the older lady already having her run errands for her all morning. God, she wished she just went with Belly and the moms to shop. That way she'd at least be dressed accordingly.

Mags didn't exactly have fancy clothes like she needed.

It wasn't all bad, she guessed. Caroline had Shayla and Nicole to talk to. Gigi as well, but Caroline and Gigi were never that close. She liked the other girls around as well, but just not as much.

Caroline turned her head towards the door when conversations stopped, seeing Belly (finally) with her arm linked through Jeremiah's, who had no shirt on. Paige noticed them as well, heading straight towards the two with a disapproving look.

"Caroline, will you please escort Jeremiah out?" Paige asked, looking towards the girl. Caroline smiled and nodded but once Paige was looking away, she sent the blonde boy a look. She made her way over to them, right as Jeremiah's eyes ventures towards the snacks. "Jeremiah those are for the girls!" Paige yelled as Jeremiah ran towards the sandwiches, grabbing one. "Just-just one."

"You two cause me so much anxiety." Caroline muttered, moving towards the two quickly. Belly smiled, a bit embarrassed. "Sorry I'm late." Caroline sighed. "It's fine, Bels. Just text me last time I thought you had been kidnapped or something." She looked at Jeremiah. "Though it seems I wasn't too far off."

"You hurt me, Caroline." Jeremiah responded, putting a hand on his heart. "Go." Caroline ushered, moving the boy towards the door. "Knock 'em dead!" Jeremiah spoke to Belly before he was fully out of the room. Caroline shut the doors behind the two, giving him another look. Jeremiah just laughed. "What?"

Caroline sighed. "Where is your shirt?" He held up his whistle. "Lifeguarding." Caroline put her hand on her face. Jeremiah's face fell as he realized something was wrong. "What is it?" Caroline let her head fall back. "I already hate this job." Jeremiah looked into the room, making sure Belly was okay and not still just standing there before he pulled Caroline further out of the view of everyone else. "What's up?"
