Wei Ying doesn't know how long he has been in Cloud Recesse, in the cold cave. Wei Ying turn to look at the cave entrance, "Lan Zhan, how long have I been in Cloud Recesse?" Lan Zhan went to put the tray down on the table.

"6 year now. Do you feel your core getting bigger now?" Lan Zhan went over to Wei Ying, he hold out his hand, Wei Ying know what Lan Zhan want. "Mn. I can feel your core is getting stronger. It will be stronger then the one you have before you gave away to Jiang Wanyin."

At the mention of Jiang Wanyin name Lan Zhan look at Wei Ying, "Wei Ying?" Wei Ying look up at Lan Zhan, "What is it?" Wei Ying asked.

"Remember you telling me about Wen Qing transferring your core to Jiang Wanyin?" Wei Ying nodded his head. "Does he know about it?" Lan Zhan asked Wei Ying.

Wei Ying look away from Lan Zhan as he bring his knee to his chest and put his head on his knee, "No, he doesn't know about it. Wen Qing and Wen Ning promise me not to tell anyone about it, not even Jiang Cheng. Your not suppose to know but since you check my pulse, and ask me about it. I can't lie to you or not to tell you either."

"Wei Ying."

"I don't know how to tell you. I don't know what you will do once you know about it. I can only be a medicore. I'm scare Lan Zhan, I was scare that you will leave me, scare that you won't stay by my side or even ignore me."

Wei Ying lifted his head up, he hear rustling noise coming from behind him. He turn around to see Lan Zhan taken off his cloth. "Lan Zhan, what are you doing?" Lan Zhan got into the water, he pull Wei Ying into his arm.

"It doesn't matter if Wei Ying is a cultivator or a medicore. Wei Ying is still Wei Ying. Don't you remember what you ask me at Phoenix mountain?"

Flashback

Wei Ying is playing on his flute, he is helping the Jiang clan to get more bait. After he is done playing, he see Lan Zhan walking by at the bottom of the hill. At first he is happy to see him but then he remember what Lan Xichen said to him.

He look away from Lan Zhan, a second later he look back to his surprise he see Lan Zhan looking up at him. Lan Zhan walk up to him, he stand up to greeted Lan Zhan, "Yo Lan Zhan, I heard that you been rewriting the Lan clan rule."

"I have composed a new music score, I want to share it with you to see if this will work or not."

Wei Ying sigh, "Lan Wangji Ah Lan Wangji, what do you take me for? Can't you leave me alone?"

This got Lan Zhan to move his eye down to the ground while asking, "who am I to you?"

Wei Ying is surprise to head Lan Zhan asking him this, "I had once taken you as my soulmate."

"I still am."

Wei Ying pull away from Lan Zhan, "You still....you....you still remember that?" Lan Zhan nodded his head. Lan Zhan touched Wei Ying cheek, "will always remember what Wei Ying said."

Wei Ying went back into Lan Zhan arm, "thank you for always stay by my side, Lan Zhan."

"I have my regret." Lan Zhan pull Wei Ying close to him, "what kind of regret?" Wei Ying asked quietly, Lan Zhan can still hear him.

"At NeverNight, I wasn't by your side."

Wei Ying pull back again, he put both of his hand on each side of Lan Zhan cheek, "Lan Zhan, Lan Wangji, Hanguang Jun, you listen to me. This whole thing has nothing to do with you. Me getting defect and studying crafty trick are my own choice, do you understand?"

Lan Zhan pull Wei Ying back into his arm, "Mn. I understand."

After the two have a long talk, Lan Zhan left the cold cave with the cold food. He left to make a new food for Wei Ying. Before heading to teach the children Lan Zhan take the food back into the cold cave for Wei Ying.

Seeing that Wei Ying is meditating, Lan Zhan put the food on the table for him. "Wei Ying, make sure you eat while the food is still hot."

When Lan Zhan left Wei Ying stomach started to growl, 'he sure know how to keep me from my food.' Wei Ying got up, got dress, and went over to the table, "these are my favorites dish?" 'I guess he still remembers,' "Tianzi Xiao. Seriously Lan Zhan, how many wine bottle do you have in your room anyway?"

In Lan Zhan class, he walk around to see how the young children is doing. He is proud of Sizhui, he got the hang on how to play on the guqin. He did learn from Lan Zhan after all.

"Alright class, that is for today. Make sure you study hard and practice playing on your guqin at home okay?" Lan Zhan look at all of his students.

"Yes, Hanguang Jun."

Everyone left beside Sizhui and Lan Zhan, "Die, can we go see Xia- I mean Xiao gege? I want to tell him what I learn today?" Lan Zhan kneel down in front of Sizhui, "After your swordmanship lesson, okay?"

"Okay!" With that Sizhui left from there. On his way out he see Jingyi, "Sizhui! Come on!" Sizhui walk up to Jingyi, "Jingyi, no shouting, do you want to get punish again?" Jingyi look around him, "But there is no one?"

Sizhui sigh, "what happen if Grand master Lan or Zewu Jun or Hanguang Jun is around? They will punish you."

"Your right. Let's go, we don't want to be late for our swordmanship lesson." The two children left from there to go to their swordmanship class. This is where they begin their cultivation lesson.
