Life as a soon to be ex-Don is never predictable. One thing is certain, someone is always willing to take what you have worked hard for, there are always those out there looking for more money and power, who are capable of doing anything to get it.

I chose not to follow in the foot steps of generations before me, not that I count my self better than them, but I want more for my family then all the drama and violence that goes along with the dark side of the mafia lifestyle. My greatest fear has always been about losing one of my family, standing at a grave site of a younger bother and mourning a life lost before it was truly lived. When you live a life full of violence, it's like the biblical saying "you reap what you sow" and truer words have never been spoken, eventually you'll reap a harvest of violence. All that to say, I can't undo what I've done thus far in my life, only now I weigh each choice or action I take and whether or not I can accept the consequences.

When I received that call this morning from a social worker in Florida telling me that my little sister was in need of a guardian and informing me of the circumstances, it wasn't a difficult decision because I had already made it the day her mother took her from our lives and I would gladly give up everything including my life to have her back, so with just a few phone calls and less than an hour later, I was her legal guardian. I sent a text to Elijah and Nick telling him to meet me in my office. I heard their footsteps just outside the door as they entered together both casting a glance at me.

"I got a call from a social worker in Florida an hour ago informing me our little sister Isabella is in need of a legal guardian, to which I accepted and I am sending you Elijah to retrieve her, she is in school now and will be pulled out when you arrive" I tell them, it's a lot to take in and both appear to be in shock trying to process what they just heard. Elijah is the first one to catch up "What? How in the hell did they find her, when we have been searching all this time without success?" he asks me outrage and frustration waring with excitement showing clearly on his face.

"Catherine changed Isabella's last name to Thompson, and when Catherine died two years ago, Isabella's step father Samuel Garcia was only given temporary custody, apparently he has been under investigation for gang related crimes, the judge ordered a DNA test be taken from Isabella and social services was responsible for tracking down her family based on the results, someone in social services dropped the ball and Isabella's case fell through the cracks until this morning when Law enforcement contacted them because Samuel was involved in a shooting outside his home where Isabella lives and had just left for school 20 minutes prior to the incident, he is in ICU and if he survives the gunshot wounds he will be brought up on charges and incarcerated" I inform them, a sick feeling still lingering in the pit of my stomach as I think about how close Isabella came to death this morning, if she had been delayed or stayed home sick today this would have ended so differently and I might not have ever gotten another chance to see her again.

"She's been living with a gang member? What the hell was Catherine thinking to marry a man like that and let him raise her?" Nick says in disbelief and anger
