Season 2: Chapter 1

I'm Autumn Hargrove, I'm Billy Hargroves 13 year old sister. We have a step sister named Max, me and her get along great, but Billy doesn't get along with her, they love each other in their own way, they don't really show it. We moved from California to Hawkins, Indiana. We had just unpacked stuff and we start school tomorrow. Me and Max head to an arcade for a bit then after 20 some minutes we head back home because Billy drove us.

We got back and I sighed flopping on my bed after unpacking all my shit from the boxes, I hear screaming coming from the kitchen and I groaned, probably just dad again. I get up and walked out my room and over to the kitchen seeing my dad yell at a broken dish. He turns around and looks at me and he pointed at me,

"You, clean this shit up right now!" He yelled making me flinch and I feel a presence behind me and my dad dropped his hand and walked away to the living room. I turned around seeing Billy behind me,

"Are you okay?" He asked me with his hands on my shoulders,

"Yeah" I say nodding and went to pick up the glass that broke but Billy stopped me,

"I can clean this up" Billy said as I stand up straight,

"Are you sure, I don't want dad yelling at you because he told me to clean it" I say to him and he half smiled,

"I'll be fine. You should see if Max needs help unpacking" He said to me and seemed like he hated saying her name and I sighed, I don't see why he can't get along with her, I nodded and he kissed my head and I walked away to Max's room and closed the door when I entered,

"Hey, you need help?" I asked her and she nodded with a smile,

"Oh, what was all the screaming about?" Max asked me,

"Dad broke a dish and told me to clean it up" I respond,

"Did you?" Max asked with a raised brow and I chuckled,

"No, dad walked off when Billy walked up behind me and Billy told me not to worry about it and said he'd clean it and told me to come help you" I said and she nodded at that,

"I know sometimes you don't listen to your dad, or even Billy." She said with a laugh,

"Yeah, sometimes me and Billy argue and you can hear it. I just wished he'd be nicer to you" I said to her and look down with a frown,

"I know, I do to. He seems like a good brother, especially to you but he's a dick" she said getting out a box and I laughed a bit,

"Yeah he can be a dick a lot" I said as we both began laughing and the sound of the door slammed open made us both stop and look and we see Billy and Dad standing there, oh shit, I stand up in front of Max,

"What's going on in here?" Dad asked us with a glare,

"I'm j-just helping M-Max unpack" I respond stuttering and I see Billy glaring at dad, I have a small stuttering problem, it only acts up when I get scared usually, surprisingly it didn't when he yelled at me over a glass.

"I don't care, keep it down before I make you" he said making me look down and shake a bit in fear as Max came beside me and grabbed my hand, Dad kept glaring daggers at me and it scared me,

"Neil!" Susan yelled at him and he looks away from us and at her and she gave him a hard look and he left the room and I let out a shaky breath,

"I'm sorry about that girls" Susan said to us,

"It's okay Mom" Max said quietly and Susan left and Billy gave me a sad look and walked away,

"Do you s-still need help u-unpacking?" I asked her and she shook her head no,

"No, it's getting late anyway, we should probably head to bed, goodnight Autumn." Max said to me and I hugged her not feeling scared no more,

"Goodnight Max" I said and let go and left her room going to mine but before I did I went to Billy's room and knocked and I heard a sigh come from there and he opened the door glaring and when he noticed it was me his face softened,

"You okay?" He asked and I shrugged and he hugged me and I hugged him back. He let's go and pulls me in his room and walks to his closet and grabs his Denim jacket and he hands me it,

"Why are you handing me this?" I asked him, he smiles,

"Because I know how you get nightmares and you'd always tug on my arm with me wearing it so I'd always give you it so you can cuddle it. It use to help you calm down" he said to me, how'd I forget that,

"Oh, I forgot about that?" I respond,

"I figured you'd forget, you haven't had them in a while, but in case you do, cuddle that okay." He said to me and I nodded my head,

"O-Okay" I said and he kissed my head and I walked out his room and into mine and closed my door and changed then I went to bed.

Running through the woods away from that bad place to try and find my way back home, 12 years old and alone. But at least I'm out of that awful place. I ran til my legs couldn't take no more and fell down a hill, I found a road and decided to walk to see if I can find anything. I was still in Hawkins so I turned into a Falcon and flew to California. I got tired so I turned back normal and started walking. I walked into a Police Station and they called my family. Not to long after my dad and step mom came and Susan was worried and hugged me while dad just stood there not looking worried. Billy came in and picked me up and hugged me tightly not letting go of me.

I wake up and screamed while sweating and crying as I pulled Billy's jacket closer to me, I hear footsteps and my door opened and I see Billy and he runs over to me and sits on my bed and hugged me tightly as I cried on his shoulder.

"What the hell is going on here!" Dad screamed and Billy shushed him and dad looks shocked,

"She had a nightmare" Susan said from next to him glaring at dad and came over to me with Max in tow,

"I don't care, she shouldn't be screaming" Dad said and Billy gripped me tighter,

"It's not her fault dad" Billy said and Susan stood up pushing Dad out the room,

"Goodnight guys, hope you feel better sweetie" Susan said leaving the room,

"You'll be okay Autumn" Billy said to me and I just cried more, he lets go of me and kissed my forehead and told me to get some more sleep, and he said if I couldn't sleep to go to his room. He left my room and went to his,

"I'm sorry Autumn. Are you gonna be okay?" Max asked and I nodded my head, she got up and left, I closed my door and sat back on my bed and lifted my left sleeve up and looked at the number 012 on my wrist. I sighed. The place I'd escaped from when I was 12 was a lab, it was in Hawkins, that night I changed to a falcon and flew really fast from Hawkins back to California, It was weird how people got me from California all the way to Hawkins Indiana, and now we're in Hawkins living here, and it's scary because I don't wanna get taken again and the news was though I have powers now, that's why I can change to animals. No one knows I have them. Not even Max or Billy. I can move things with my mind and can make force fields to guard people and myself and can also control fire, and can change only into a Wolf, Cheetah and a Falcon. And for some reason, I don't get weak when I change into animals like my other powers.

I couldn't sleep so I crept out my room and knocked on Billy's door,

"Billy" I whisper hoping he can hear and the door opened to see Billy looking at me,

"I-I can't s-sleep" I said and he let me in his room, he shut his door and I get in his bed, sometimes if I can't sleep he let's me come in his room, he smiles as I snuggled in the blanket and he lays next to me and let's me curl into his side and I fall asleep peacefully.

I haven't been uploading my other books recently bc I haven't been able to write stuff. I've just been busy half the time, but imma try and upload more often 🥰.
