Sakshi's POV:
"How dare you talk back to me?", Baba shouted angrily and everyone in the floor came out of their room.

"Listen baba, you and maa are behaving like I have murdered someone and is refusing to accept it", I said calmly.

"Yes you are murdering our reputation by wearing this things. See now all these unknown people is looking at us due to your shouting and outside all creepy males will look at you", Maa said angrily.

"Behenji(ma'am), is she your daughter?", a woman in her late forties I guess asked my maa.

"Yes", Maa turned to her and reply.

"See now this woman will degrade you because of these cheap dress of yours", Maa continued. Wow. Here I was thinking about my parents happiness all my life and they are just shouting at their daughter for some stupid reason and see a nosy unknown woman will now say some nasty things. I looked at Arjun ji and saw him looking at me with his mouth shut. I was right, this bastard only have lust for me because if he loved me then he would have supported me.

"Aunty let's solve whatever the matter is inside the room and you guys please carry on with your own work", Arjun ji said.

"Wait young man. I want to say something to her", that unknown lady said pointing her finger on my mother.

"Listen aunty, I don't want to hear any shit related to her and please don't provoke her mother", Arjun ji said. Wait is he helping me? No he is not. He is just trying to maintain the standard of their hotel because in these kind of hotel only rich and upper class people stay and our behaviour is making us clearly look like middle class people.

"No young man, don't think me a typical Indian aunty who tries to fuel every fight", she said.

"Ok just be careful about what you are speaking", Arjun ji warned then looked at me and gave a reassuring smile.

"Behenji (ma'am), you are screaming at your daughter because she wore crop top which is above her stomach right", She asked and my maa nodded glaring at me.

"Do you know behenji(ma'am) that my daughter wore item dancers dress and danced infront of criminals. Not only that she lived with a man because of her mission and yeah she is a virgin still now. She wore all those dresses which according to you and the society is bad but still she won Nari Ratna award do you know why? because dress does not depict someone's character and intention.", she said. What? I looked at others and their eyes were as big as saucers.

"My daughter was disgraced by women's of our neighbourhood. They taunted us, called our daughter by names but me and my husband only supported our daughter because she didn't do anything wrong. She did all this things only for the nation, only to protect it. She needed our support and we supported her wholeheartedly.", She said.

She continued," I know you all will think that I am making up stories but it's true. I said this because your daughter only wore a crop top and you are shouting at her saying that this are cheap clothes where in actual you should let her wear this because wearing short clothes is not a crime. It doesn't provoke males to molest her because if it was a truth then my daughter would also have been a rape victim then a girl who always were clothes that hide her body would not have been raped."

She again paused and then continued," if you don't want your daughter to get molested then say her to be strong. Say her that you will always support her, say her to fight for herself. Don't always try to protect her. Let her protect herself. We should not only educate our sons that how to be gentleman but also teach our daughter to how to protect themselves."

"What is your name beautiful", she asked me. "Sakshi Bose", I replied.

"Sakshi never fear to wear whatever you want because of your parents, society or those nasty men out there. Don't think your body as your weakness because your body is the most powerful weapon you hold for yourself", she said.

"Did your daughter really did all those?" My mother asked.

"Yes she did", she said with a smile.

"I know still you will be hesitant to let your daughter wear whatever you want because it's very difficult to change narrow minded people's beliefs but atleast try to change it because there is no harm if your daughter is wearing short dresses and about society I will say that they would taunt you for sometime not for lifetime and if you don't take them seriously then nothing would happen. Ok then goodbye. It's time for me and my husband's departure. He is waiting for me downwards.", She said and waved us bye.

"Aunty what is your and your daughter's name?", I asked.

"I am Dharvi Mehra and my daughter is Swastika Mehra", Dharvi aunty said and smiled.

"And Sakshi start learning to protect yourself because you may need it anytime, anywhere", She said and entered into the lift.

I looked at my parents and they looked somehow effected by Darbi aunty's words.

"Let's go then since everyone is ready", Baba said and smiled at me.

I think it's really true that words can be  powerful more than action if it is spoken in a right time and in a right place.

Hey guys please share your thoughts on Dharvi and her daughter Swastika.

I was actually planning to write a separate story on them so I thought to introduce them here in my first book.

Dharvi's speech would not only change her parents behaviour but would also make Sakshi little bit brave like Swastika. This would also put Arjun in deep thoughts.

I hope you guys like this chapter and don't forget to vote and comment. Negetive comments are always welcome because they would help me to do better. Please point out the grammatical mistakes because English is not my mother language.
Happy reading ❣️
