Chapter 2

It was the next day and the family were sat round the table eating toast."So what lessons do you have today?"Michael asked.
"Um...English with Mr Clarkson,double maths with Mr Chalk,pe with Mr Diamond."
"Interesting day then."Sian said.
"More like a crap day."
"Language."Sian hissed.
"Sorry."Emily said sarcastically.
"We'd better be off."Michael said.
"I'm walking."
"Okay."Sian said.
They got in the car and drove to school,Emily met Scout at her house and they walked."We have double bloody math today."Emily said.
"Great,2 lessons full of shit."
"But at least we have that fit p.e teacher today."
"I like p.e."
"Same and now I'll have Mr Diamond do a workout on me."
They both laughed."Shit it's 10 past 9 we are so late for English."Emily said.
They ran to school but walked from the gates on wards.They opened the English room door at 20 past 9.
"Girls outside."Mr Clarkson said.
"Sorry sir."They both said.
"Follow me."
Tom took them to Mr Burns office and Sian was sat in there.Tom knocked on the door "Come in."Michael shouted.
They walked in "These 2 are 25 minutes late,i think you need to deal with this."Tom said leaving the room.
"Why were you late?"Michael asked.
"We were on our way to school and we didn't realise what time it was,we were busy talking."Emily said.Sian glared at her daughter."Well Jodie lunch time detention tomorrow lunch and break and Emily stay here.Jodie you can go now."Sian said.Scout walked out and back to English."Emily."Sian shouted.
"Just shut up,i don't need a lecture off of you 2."
"Well your going to get 1."Sian shouted.
"How about you do detention tomorrow lunch and break and we will start dropping you straight to school."Michael said.
"Fine."Emily groaned.Emily walk back to English and sat down.Tom came over and gave her a sheet."I know it must be hard with your mum working here and your step-dad as head teacher but concentrate and turn up for lessons on time."Tom whispered in her ear.
He went back up to the desk and sat down."What did he want."Scout whispered.
"Just saying how I should concentrate and arrive on time."
"Bloody hell, I thought I was nosey."
"Tomorrow I have to get a lift,just so I arrive on time."
"Girls stop talking."Tom shouted.
The bell went an they headed there way to maths.They were on time "Come in guys."Daniel Chalk said.Scout and Emily sat right at the back."Lets crack on with these equations."Daniel joked.
The girls walked in and sat down.Later on in the lesson Sian and Michael knocked on the door."Come in."
"Can we have a word with Emily."Sian said.
"We will be out side."
Emily just sat there."Come on your-"
"Yes I'm going."Emily hissed.She walked out "What."She hissed.
"Don't give me that tone."Sian said.
"What do you want."
"Me and your mum were. talking-"Michael started.
"Just get on with it."
"Don't interrupt."Sian said.
"We were talking about maybe changing your surname to Byrne."Michael said.
"Do what you want."
Emily walked back in and sat back down next to Scout."What did they want."
"Saying how I should change my surname."
"Maybe there just trying to be nice."
"Can i tell you a secret."
"Yea don't worry who will I tell."
"I really like Michael and I want him to actually be my dad as I heard him say to my mum that he want to be my dad.He's like always nice to me,but lately I've been like mood swingy and different,i don't know what to do."
"Maybe just apologise for what you've been doing and say Michael I'm really sorry for the way I've been treating you.Or something like that."
"Yea I'll try that."
"Can I just ask what actually happened to your real dad."
"He was horrible and my mum divorced him and he died in a crash when I was 10,ive never really had another dad apart from Michael."
At the end of day Emily walked home. Sian and Michael were sat watching TV when Emily walked down and an hugged her mum."Whats this about."Sian asked.
"I'm sorry for being a cow recently it's just been so different and I'm not used to having a dad around me.So I'm sorry Michael for being weird around you and I'm sorry mum for being bitchy."
"I'm not trying to be your dad if you don't want me too."Michael said.
"I would love for you to be my dad,also I will change my surname I mean what's the worst that could happen."
"Well if your sure."Sian said.Emily was just about to walk away but "do you want to watch a movie with us?"Michael asked.Emily sat down and watched.
