I've been to L.A countless times since leaving after high school. Those occasions had been mostly for leisure or some short business trips. To be going back permanently was a whole different ballgame. New York packed a punch, but after busting balls for so long, I needed a change in environment and what better place to head than my childhood home.
And then there was the issue of Georgia Milan.

That aside, the idea of returning to LA put a real smile on my face. The thing that intrigued me the most wasn't the sight, or the idea of family and business. It was something else altogether – or rather someone.

I hadn't seen Jade Simmons in years and heck, after being caught up in the business and a certain lifestyle after college, I hadn't even sought her out. Now that I was going to be back in LA permanently, she was all I could think about. I wondered if she was just as hotheaded as ever or if her father had managed to tame her. The thought of someone taming the wild wild Jade put a smile on my face.

I doubt anyone could, but now that we were now adults, the idea of doing it myself didn't seem too bad.
A smirk lifted the corner of my lips at the territories my mind had wandered but I was a hot blooded male and I loved women. Simple.

My mom entered the lavishly designed living room, her heels tapping softly against the surface of the white marble. She had a proud smile on her face as she approached me, her red lips set in a tight smile.

"Well sweetheart, the place looks great, but why don't you just move back home with us instead. It's thrice the size of this place," she said as she looked around the space.

I sighed. "Mom, I haven't lived with you since I graduated high school," I put in with a little humor to my voice.

She rolled her eyes and pursed her lips. "I know but you would have the entire east wing to yourself."

I adjusted the lapels of my jacket as I stood. "I know, but I'm sure you wouldn't want to bump into my lady friends on any occasion," I said as I raised my brows and watched as she scowled.

"Ugh, please don't remind me," she huffed, crossing her arms. "What's so wrong with Georgia , sweetheart? She seems like such a nice girl," my mom bragged.

I sighed heavily and moved towards the kitchen to pour myself some scotch. I'd need it with this conversation.

"Do you know that her dad is basically shoving her down my throat because he wants her off his hands and I bet he thinks if his daughter marries a Montgomery, then we'd be Allies. That won't happen."

Mother's thinly drawn brows furrowed in thought. "Oh, but the Milan's are great business heads."

"Who are sly leeches," I said as I poured myself a glass of Macallan. "Dad understands why I don't want this to happen."

"Well, the media is already running with it and people are liking the idea. You need to put an end to it before people force you to do what you don't want."

"That won't ever happen," I said as I took a drink and bared my teeth.  "This will blow over like every hot topic that ever existed and I'll move on with my life in peace."

She shrugged. "I mean, this has been going on for over a month now and Georgia has been finding endless ways to stick her claws into you and stretch this out as much as she can. She's actually teasing the idea to the public, Jax."
