Beomgyu: hey princess do u think falling off 5 stories kills a person
Taehyun: i
Taehyun: No??? it'd probably leave them disabled for life though
Beomgyu: i see
Taehyun: Why are you asking me this
Beomgyu: no reason :D
Taehyun narrowed his eyes at his phone. Why would Beomgyu be asking him such weird questions at this time in the evening? Either way, he shrugged and went back to his assignment. Kai sat across him on the dining table, sipping orange juice and contemplating life. He had 3 assignments due tonight and he had just started the very first one when his phone suddenly buzzed.
Kai's eyes lit up the minute he saw the text.
"Professor extended the due date for two of my assignments!!" He said, slamming his laptop shut and immediately sprawling across the couch, burying himself into his plushies and pulling out his phone.
"You were panicking just two minutes ago, I think you should at least finish off the first assignment then? So you can enjoy your free time without stress." Taehyun said, staring at his roommate in disbelief.
"Ah that's fine, I can always do them later."
"Just because you can, doesn't mean you should."
"Just because I shouldn't, doesn't mean I won't."
Taehyun sighed. "Fair enough." Kai giggled.
"By the way Tyunnie, how was last weekend's walk? You seemed much cheerful when you came back." He asked, looking up from his phone.
Taehyun smiled. "I met Beomgyu on the way, we walked together and I also agreed to take him to visit my family this year."
Kai raised his eyebrows. "Hey, I thought I was the only one that had the privilege of being your mom's favourite." He said with a pout, making Taehyun laugh.
"Oh don't worry, that's not changing anytime soon. Besides I don't think either of us were being serious yesterday. It was just because the topic of families came up." He explained.
"I see, what did he tell you about his family then?" Kai asked.
Taehyun paused. Was he really supposed to reveal this to his friend? Well, they were close enough so he decided for it.
"He said his family...was dead. He didn't elaborate saying he'd save it for some other time because Yeonjun hyung would kill him if he didn't get to the dorms or something."
Kai's eyes widened.
"Wait what, actually? I had no idea..."
"Yeah..me neither."
They sat in silence for a few moments before Kai suddenly perked up.
"By the way, when he said he tried to die after I asked him about the bandage, was he really being serious?"
Taehyun nodded.
"Actually the first time I met him, he was in the middle of a suicide attempt...which thankfully failed." he slowly admitted, watching Kai's expression change into a horrified one.
"You're kidding right-? This dude needs to get help right away!" he said, with a concerned tone.
"I know, I've told him, but he keeps brushing me off saying he's still alive anyway and some bullshit about every attempt failing." Taehyun said shaking his head. "Just a while ago he texted me asking if a person could die falling off the 5th floor."
