It had been a month of their friendship now. Taehyun found himself looking forward to Beomgyu's texts everyday, occasionally meeting up with the boy after classes.
He thought Huening Kai would be mad because how often they hung out but was obviously proved wrong when the boy seemed happier than Taehyun himself. He had become friends with Beomgyu as well, developing a playful relationship with him.
"I can't believe you've made a new friend and are willingly going out. What kind of black magic does Beomgyu know?" Kai said laughing. Taehyun giggled along. He had gotten accustomed to the teasing at this point. Besides, Kai wasn't wrong. Beomgyu really did make him want to go out everyday, bringing smiles to his face whenever they met.
Yet, the cuts on his hand never reduced. He wished Beomgyu would tell him what was wrong, allow him to carry the burden with him, but it never happened. Whenever Taehyun asked him about the cuts, he'd brush him off with laughs making him pout.
"Taehyun please stop thinking." Kai said, smacking his forehead, startling the blonde.
He sighed. "Kai, do you think I'm trustworthy?" he suddenly asked, making his best friend raise an eyebrow in question.
"Of course Tyunnie, or I wouldn't be telling you all of my deepest secrets."
"Like that one time you peed o-"
"OKAY I did not ask for you to say them out loud."
They both burst out laughing at that, making Taehyun temporarily forget his concerns.

"My goal is not to be the best, but to inspire someone enough to surpass me." Beomgyu said, raising his chin high.
Yeonjun rolled his eyes. "You know you can't say that every time I beat you in Mario Kart."
"Try and stop me." Beomgyu said, smirking.
"You both need to stop and get a life." Soobin said from behind them, without removing his eyes from his book.
"What life?" Beomgyu asked, placing his controller down, sprawling on the floor with his head on Yeonjun's lap. The latter sighed, running a hand through his pink hair. This was the third time he'd dyed it in 3 weeks and Beomgyu could already see his damaged hair forming a tiny bald patch under his bangs.
"You know, you should really stop with these jokes. Some people may genuinely be disturbed." Soobin said.
"Hah, nope, I'd rather die." Beomgyu said before his eyes lit up. "Get it?"
Yeonjun smacked him on the head sighing. "You're still hyperactive from last night's party I see."
Beomgyu furrowed his eyebrows. "All I drank was redbull! I didn't even have beer this time man."
"How many?"
"18."
"You had 18 red bulls Gyu— I'd rather have you drink beer." Soobin said, a little shocked.
"By the way, how's things going with the Taehyun dude?" Yeonjun suddenly asked, making Beomgyu sit up.
"Huh? I mean, we're good friends-?" he said with a confused expression. He earned another smack from Yeonjun this time.
"Ow- what the hell? You asked!" Beomgyu said, annoyed now.
"You know, this past month I've seen you smile the most I have in 2 years." Yeonjun said. Soobin placed his book down and nodded. "Honestly, I agree. And every time you guys come to the cafe, he looks at you with so much adoration."
Beomgyu's expression blanked.
"Wait, you really think so?"
Both boys nodded.
