Chapter 13²: Despair

(Hey hey people, it's been a while since I made an actual chapter for this story, I've been busy making chapters for other stories, I've also been reading a lot of A&NMR stories... anyways, enjoy the story. -A/N)

*wind howling*
*snow storm*

Ruby: *sighs* I don't get it, the empty towns we passed through were damaged, or unfinished... but this place looks... fine.

Weiss: *freezing* maybe everyone left in a hurry, before things took a turn?

Y/N: *unphased by the blizzard*

Qrow: *tries to open the door* *locked* hm... stay on guard. *kicks the door open*

Everyone: *breaches the entrance*

...

Maria: close the door already!

Ruby: *turns around*

Maria: it's cold enough in here as it is.

*time skip*

*Blake, Weiss & Oscar barricading the door*

Blake: I saw a chimney from outside, maybe we can get a fire going?

Weiss: please, I'll look for some blankets.

Qrow: Yang, go with her.

Ruby: *looks at pictures mounted on the wall*

Oscar: *in separate room* looks like a study or a library?

Blake: what do you think?

Ruby: something doesn't feel right.

Blake: let's look for some-

Weiss: *screams*

Ruby: Weiss!

We ran upstairs to check on Weiss and Yang.

We saw a bedroom that had claw marks everywhere, there was guts too... and a severed head.

Qrow: what's going on!? Huh? *notices the room*

Ruby: do you think Beowolves did this?

Qrow: Beowolves usually leave buildings in ruins... something else did this.

Y/N: *concerned*

Qrow: I'll check out the other houses.

Y/N: I'll go with you.

Qrow: *nods*

We went to the other houses and found the same thing, the outside was fine but the inside was a mess.

Y/N: do you think we should leave?

Qrow: it's best that we wait for the storm to pass, whatever did this is probably long gone.

We headed back to the main cabin to meet up with the rest.

*everyone else sitting by the fire*

Weiss: *traumatized expression*
