benatar gets mad (road rage)

June 23rd, 2012. The writing, melody-ing demo-ing, and final instrumental were all done by this point. All that were needed were the vocals.

Puff Puff had already finished his rapping part, letting out his personal anger with traffic, but it was up to Benatar to record the choruses and bridge And Shit Like That. This song was supposed to be angry, so he needed to sound angry.

He didn't sound angry during the choruses.

That didn't really actually matter, luckily, because it was some sort of reprieve from Puff's pissed verses. What mattered was the bridge and the song's climax/ending... Benatar realized the bridge was supposed to sound calm anyways, so he went with that. The climax, however...

"ROAD RAGE!"

It was almost time. He needed to be mad.

"ROAD RAGE!"

He thought of shit that made him angry, like the other members of the band (not Deejay) being mean to him and stuff.

"ROAD RAGE!"

It worked.

"HEY MAN, I'M JUST TRYIN' TO DRIIIIIIVE!!! FEELS MORE LIKE I'M TRYIN' TO STAY ALIIIIIIVE!!!! THE ONLY THING YOU'RE DRIVING IS DRIVING ME CRAZYYYYYYY~"

The other members were super caught off guard by this first take, Puff especially. They'd never heard Benatar sound this pissed.

"OHHHH!! I'm just tryin' to merge, and you better back off cus I'm on thE VEEERRGEEEE!!!!! I'm losin' my coooool~"

It was like Benatar wasn't a two-dimensional gentle British keytar player, but actually felt emotions like anger and shit like that.

"I got road rage!"

"What the hell was that???" asked Puff, absolutely astounded.

"What? You needed angry, I got angry!" replied the blond.

"Yeah, but I didn't expect you to start screaming!"

"I don't usually get very mad, you ought to know!-"

"That was the perfect take, you two need to knock it the actual shit off." Deejay intervened.

Thusly, the vocals were finished. Now it was just a matter of mixing it all and filming the music video.
