Once the four girls were finally settled and had their seats in the VIP box, they set to looking around and seeing who was already there.
As suspected, Loretta and a select few Bobcats were already there, in offensively bold dresses of all different colours and shapes, they were, as usual, obnoxiously loud and attempting to gain the attention of everybody and anybody they could. Any publicity was good publicity in their opinion.
"Well, anymore glitter and sparkle and the sun rays will reflect off of them and burn my retinas" Alex remarked "and honestly, I wouldn't mind after looking at those dresses" she complained.
Linda let out a snort at that, and it was nice to see the pair finally agreeing on something for the first time today, even if it was a dig at the expense of somebody else.
Though, it was almost as though the remark had summoned the Bobcats, because moments later, Loretta, Tan and Stephanie were stalking over to the group, glass of bubbly in one hand, mobile phones in the other, the four of them collectively groaned. Where the Bobcats were involved, there was rarely anything nice to say.
"Oh, hey heroes of Jorvik, fancy seeing you in the VIP box. Surprised you can actually afford it!" Loretta leered at them sarcastically, looking them up and down. The other girls giggled behind her.
"Well, actually, we didn't pay-" Alex began, ready for an argument.
"We can afford it, Loretta, and if that's your idea of a greeting, then I'd seriously suggest working on your social skills." Lisa intercepted before Alex dug them deeper into a hole.
Loretta looked at Lisa slightly dumbfounded, her mouth moved but no words came out as she tried to think of a comeback, eventually, Tan jumped in to save her friend.
"She was just trying to compliment you guys, actually, but as usual you can't take a compliment and think everything is an insult." Tan shot back.
Vivien stood up at that point and took a step forward towards the Bobcat girls "Yeah, and it was the most back handed 'compliment' we've ever received. Why don't you go back over there and try and have one good night without harassing people?" she asked the Bobcats rhetorically, crossing her arms.
Loretta tossed her platinum blonde hair and smacked her lips, looking Vivien up and down once more "Whatever, this whole thing was a waste of money anyway, we seen Anne's passage in the warmup before, and well, I could do a better job on a blind arthritic Jorvik Pony. But I guess the money is worth seeing her embarrass herself, right girls?" Loretta goaded, obviously having time to recollect her thoughts and think of further insults after Tan jumping in for her.
"Anne is a million times the rider you are, Loretta." Linda seethed, also standing up now defensively.
Loretta then faced Linda, a smirk appearing on her face "Oh, did you say something Linda? I was too busy looking at that god awful bun on the top of your head" she shot back.
Just as it was getting beyond heated, a voice stopped both groups in their tracks.
"Stop! Just stop now, all of you! Loretta, you and your minions get back over there and grow up, for goodness' sake" the voice snapped sharply, and the voice only belonged to Anastasia Silverglade, daughter of the Baroness, lavishly dressed in a handmade custom lilac dress to honour her mother and was head to toe in diamonds and pearls.
Loretta's face dropped, and she didn't utter another word, but instead looked at Anastasia with pure blazing fury until Stephanie and Tan beckoned her to walk away, Anastasia watched the girls and waited until they were out of sight before turning to the group of soul riders.
