chapter 2

as we got out of the car i could hear music blasting on the beach. the smell of fire and alcohol flooded my nose. lindsay ran to the beach and i followed, walking behind. she ran to the drinks and got two.

"here you go aubs!" she said loudly over the music. "you don't mind me calling you that do you?" she asked.

"thank you and no not at all" i said kind of annoyed. the only people that call me aubs are my friends back home and some of my family. and me and lindsay were definitely not friends or family.

"oh there's someone i want you to meet!" she said, taking my arm as i took a sip of my alcohol. she brought me over to this boy. he was really hot to say the least. his blue eyes and curly blonde hair could make any girl fall for him. definition of surfer boy.

"oh hey linds!" he said going for a side hug with lindsay.

"hi jere, this is aubs! she's staying with me for the summer!"

oh great now everyone's going to be calling me aubs.

"well hello aubs" he said with a bit of a smirk.

"okay i'm gonna take her to meet some other people! we'll be back!" she said as she dragged me away. "don't mind him, he's a flirt"

i turned my head to look back at him and he was watching me as lindsay dragged me away. i turned back towards and smiled to myself. maybe this summer wouldn't be so bad after all.

it was only a few minutes later and i had already met a lot of lindsay's friends. i actually liked lindsay. she seemed really nice. we were talking by the bonfire with this kid named cam when we heard some yelling. we looked over and watched as a girl fell on the sand.

"oh no is she alright" i said getting up to help her.

i started walking over to her as she was talking to a guy and a girl that were previously making out. i then stopped walking, not wanting to ruin anything. the guy i had met earlier ran over to her. i just walked back and sat next to the cam kid watching the scene from afar. the kid, jeremiah, talked to her then ran to some other girls. and the girl was left standing there alone.

"who is that" i asked.

"that's belly. she comes here every summer and stays with her brother, steven, jere and conrad" lindsay answered. "i'm gonna go get some more to drink"

"i feel bad for her that was rough" i said to cam.

"yeah i'm actually gonna go check on her" cam said, watching the belly girl walk away.

that left me all alone. i looked around for lindsay and saw her making out with someone by the fire.

"gross" i whispered to myself.

i made small conversation with a few people on the way to the drinks. i got myself a drink and just talked with more people. i saw jeremiah with some girls. probably best not to fall for him. i backed up a step, turning around when i bumped into someone.

"oh i am so sorry!" i said, turning to face the person.

"oh don't worry about it" he said turning to me. we made eye contact and held it for a second.

he was really attractive. i wanted to say something but nothing would come out. then i heard some fighting near us and i turned to see two boys pushing each other around. i saw the belly girl from earlier go over to them when she was elbowed in the face.

"oh my god" i said, running over to her. "are you alright?" i said helping her up. the boys kept punching at each other right next to us and one of them was shoved into me, pushing me to the ground.

the boys kept fighting as i felt hands help me up. once i was standing i saw a police car right in front of us.

"oh shit" i said, running to find lindsay. everyone ran away and i went to where lindsay had parked the car only to see it wasn't there. "shit shit shit"

i put my hands to my head feeling a headache coming then i heard a car pull up next to me.

"need a ride?" it was the guy i bumped into earlier.

"it's fine i can walk"

"i don't recommend that. you're drunk and you hit your head hard" he said, getting out of the car to help me in.

"thank you" i looked at him as he started driving.

"no worries. where do you live"

"oh fuck i can't go home"

"why not"

"my dad can't know i've been drinking" i groaned just wanting to fall asleep.

"alright don't worry i'll just take you back to mine"

i started drifting off and soon fell asleep. i felt someone carrying me out of the car and into a house as i fell into a deeper sleep.

i woke up with a horrible headache. as i slowly sat up i realized i wasn't where i should be.

"oh shit" i whisper yelled.

"good morning" i heard as the guy from last night walked in, shirtless.

"i need to go my dad is gonna kill me" i said getting out of bed and putting my shoes on.

"do you want a ride" he asked as he walked closer to me.

"no i'm fine i'll figure out how to get there"

"okay well good luck" he said, watching me leave.

i went out the front door and tried to figure out where i was. i got my phone out as i started walking down the street to see how to get there. i totally forgot the address though. i put my phone back in my pocket and looked around.

shit i'm screwed.
