— "i'm fucked." you think to yourself once again as you woke up cuddling a pillow instead of the pink haired guy who took you home last night.
looking at your phone, it's true that he always leaves the moment before you open your eyes.
he's frankly a man of his words. well, he sticked to once atleast.
"all you'll ever have is one day with me." and he's gone for the rest of the day.
it's like going to school to get detention, finish it and rush to go home.
or a more accurate one for yours and his experience—like doing something illegal and running off to the street to escape the annoying, repetitive siren that is currently after the both of you.
enough of the reminiscing, a notification popped up on your phone.
it was your brother, mikey, asking if you even have the slightest intention to go to work today.
"sorry, traffic." you typed in your usual excuse for being late.
there wasn't a traffic whatsoever, you got to the headquarters just in time.
you slightly flinched at the sight of sanzu holding the new lady recruit's hand in the firing range.
"what a morning!" you made a veiled comment to get his attention.
and you did. he looked at you with a "really?" expression and still continued to do his task.
"is that you, sano?" rindou, amused.
"yeah it's me rin, don't cream your pants." you said and walked over your brother's office.
the usual, cold ambiance of mikey's matte black walls surrounds.
"got a job for me?"
"there's no traffic down the street today."
you only chuckled at his response. "i really need to change my excuse, huh?"
mikey rolls his eyes and hands over the document.
"shit. you truly have no respect for investigators."
he flips to the next page, "they get on my nerves."
"and business." you said.
"exactly. that's why i need you to take care of them for me."
mikey never really goes out of the field nowadays. though, he's always willing to charge at someone who hinders my plans.
"alright boss."
almost walking out of his office, he mumbles something close to a suspicion.
"there was a car chase three days ago."
you anxiously turned to face him, "what does that have to do with me then?"
"nothing. you weren't home when that happened."
"i was with senju, remember?" you just had to lie through your teeth to hide the fact that you were with her brother instead.
"yeah, yeah. goodluck."
after you exited, you saw sanzu waiting too.
"sneaky." you teased. he was clearly listening to what his boss was saying.
"meet me after work, will you?"
he ignores your question. in his language, that's a yes. actually, he can't refuse. sanzu will always find his way right down the hidden spot of the parking lot to meet you to do some mindless tomfoolery.
