It's my first day of 9th grade at Tannie Academy aka Kook Academy. My parents wanted me to go to the academy because the year before I went to Kildare County middle school and I got into some trouble with the police, it involved my friends John B, JJ, and Pope. My parents wanted me to get a fresh start there, I didn't want to go but my parents were going to send me off to boarding if I didn't go.
I walked into my first class, it was English. I sat in the back. I was twirling my fingers through my hair, A girl with medium-length dirty blond hair walked into the classroom, "Mrs. Jones I'm here to give Kiara Carrera a tour."
She looked kind of bitchy.
"Ms. Carrera you may go," she scoffed, I gathered my stuff and left the classroom with her, she introduced herself, "I'm Sarah Cameron."
"I'm Kiara," I didn't show much enthusiasm. Sarah showed me the whole school, I'll admit it was a nice school. The campus had 5 buildings, Subway, Taco Bell, and Domino were restaurants in the cafeteria, and there was golf, football, baseball, soccer, gymnastics, cheerleading, track, and volleyball intramurals. Massive fields and the country club were next door.
The rest of the school day we roamed the halls, smoked in the bathrooms, and went to some of my teacher's classrooms until the day was over.
"Do you want to come over to my house today?" Sarah asked, she shifted her posture to face me and leaned her back against the wall.
She probably felt bad for me because I was the new kid and didn't have any friends.
"Sure," I said, school was over. We waited outside for her brother to drive us home.
"Sarah over here!" her brother called out, we walked over to him and my legs felt like jello, I almost tripped over my own feet but I caught myself. Holy shit, Holy fucking shit. Her brother was a God.
"Who's this?" he asked.
His voice.
"I'm Kiara" I muttered, my breathing was shaky because of how nervous I was around him. He smiled and tilted his head.
"Such a beautiful name," he said and smiled at me, I looked up at him and slightly bit my lip. He was so much much taller than me, I was 5'3 and he was around 6'1, he was almost a whole foot taller than me.
"She's new," Sarah exclaimed, she was completely clueless. A girl came over to us and kissed Rafe, I rolled my eyes and focused my attention on Sarah.
Of course, he has a girlfriend, why wouldn't he? Was she prettier than me? She was, she looked like a goddess with her perfect blond hair, blue eyes, and soft skin, and she had the perfect body.
We all got in the car, Rafe was driving, his girlfriend sat next to him, and Sarah and I sat in the back.
"Kiara, what school did you go to before you came here?" Rafe asked me, he look at me through the mirror. Was he curious or was he just trying to make conversation during the quiet car ride?
"Kildare County middle school."
"You went to the school on the pouge side of the island," Sarah questioned, Kooks, act like the pouge side is some foreign place and not just on the other side of an island that they live on.
"A lot of my friends went there and I always felt like I fit in more there," I replied, they look confused as to why I wouldn't want to go to a rich hippie school.
The rest of the car ride was silent, we got to their house and we all got out of the car and walked inside the house. Their house was a goddamn mansion, The Camerons were the richest people on the island.
