Sorry it's so late. Forgive Me (go check out that one shot #shamelessselfpromotion)

6:00, the clock read as the town began to awaken. It was now the second day of school for humans, but it was the first for hybrids. The no-name principal of the high school was pacing in his bedroom, a nervous wreck about the day. Vikk had promised to help, but how much trust could he place in a child? His paranoia was beginning to show as he prepared himself for the day ahead of him.

In his colony of baccas, Jerome argued with his mother about leaving Betty. His diamond axe was his baby, there was no way he'd be able to go a whole day without her. His mother argued that humans didn't carry weapons with them, and therefore he'd get her taken away. Jerome whimpered at the thought of losing Betty and so left her in his mother's possession. She promised she'd be the only person who would touch his Betty.

With Pete's family, they were struggling to awake the slime. He had always been a heavy sleeper, and he wasn't a morning person. They splashed him with water, slacked him, and even pushed him off his bed! The slime wouldn't awaken. Then one had the smart of trying to move his beanie. He didn't move as they nudged it slightly. Once, twice, then they lost their patience and tried to remove the beanie. His hand grabbed theirs, growling slightly. The person tried to jump back but he had a death grip on their hand. Pete growled a warning to them and then released them. He sat up with a grumble and rubbed his eyes. Someone explained that he had to get up and he groaned, fixed his beanie, and collapsed backwards.

Choco sat atop the trees, used to this early hour. Perks of being a bird, he guessed. He already had his stick tucked into his back feathers and was waiting to leave. He was having some last-minute panic, and his fellow birds weren't helping much. They continued to ignore the boy, causing him to realize something. Perhaps the humans would do the same to him. The other hybrids might as well. He was becoming so nervous that he jumped out of his tree to get towards the ground. He landed roughly and had to lay there for a few minutes. He just let the comforting pain slowly leak from his body before starting the trek through the woods towards town.

(I'm too lazy to write Preston and Mat's rn. I'll add it in later)

The humans got ready as normal humans would. Mitch threw on a white undershirt and jeans before grabbing his hoodie and jogging off to school. Rob showered and threw on some clothes, yelling a no to his mother about breakfast before jogging to his bus stop. Lachlan had a long, drawn out morning that had started at 5 am. How that boy functions, I don't even know. Vikk was up reading all night, so he just groaned before taking a long shower. He lived right next door to the school, he had some time. Kenny wouldn't awake until 6:50; at that point he'd run to his stop and take the bus.

As the clock hit 6:49am, Vikk was leaning against the school wall. His eyes scanned the milling herd of people. He was waiting for the hybrids to appear so he could get them safely inside. He shifted as a furry man exited from the woods. He walked over and offered a smile to the boy. "Hello! I'm Vikk and I'm basically your bodyguard. I will do everything in my power to ensure your safety."

"Um, okay. Well, I'm Jerome and I'm a bacca." The hybrid answered back. Vikk smiled even wider and got a slight smile from the bacca. The two then noticed a human-shaped slime walking out of the same woods. Vikk waved him over and beamed. He repeated what he said to Jerome to this slime-man and got a wide grin.

"Thanks. I'm Pete the slime. It's nice to meet you Vikky!" The slimed spoke and he seemed to radiate happiness. Did this boy know what he was walking into? Vikk chuckled nonetheless, glad for a cheer up.

"Vikky? Is that going to be my name now?" Vikk giggled and Jerome let out a chuckle.

"Absolutely, I hereby dub you Icky Sticky Vikky." Pete replied with a smirk, tapping Vikk's shoulders. He human glared at him and went to open his mouth until Pete smiled to someone over his shoulder. Vikk turned around to see a bird hybrid walking towards the three. "Hello!" Pete smiled happily towards the new hybrid. The bird sent a smile back before looking around. He was shaking slightly, but Vikk placed a calming hand on his shoulder.
