dream
"Where exactly are we going, we passed your place half a mile back," George said as he looked over the back of his shoulder in the direction of their shared, worn-down apartment.
Dream knew what the plan was, he knew what everyone's next call to action would be and he knew exactly where Ranboo would want everyone searching for clues.
"The library," the blonde stated as he pressed a hand to the small of George's back, guiding him in the right direction so he wouldn't fall back from all the distractions that currently surrounded them as the sun started to set.
Everything was seemingly more alive in the nighttime."The what?" George asked, eyebrows furrowed as he looked up at Dream. This caused an unexpected smile to unveil on the taller figures face as he looked down at the confused look on the outsider's face.
"The library," Dream started, making sure the pair were still en-route to their destination. "It's this massive building - with all these old books in them. Some of it's been wrecked and destroyed but surprisingly a lot of the books are still in tact."
"Alright, so why are we headed to read things from those before us?" George asked, the expression still evident on his face - more so now than before if anything.
"Because George, there might be some information about who the Overwatch are, something Ranboo might've missed. Something he over looked- just any information necessary." Dream simply couldn't help but to come across as frustrated. Not at anyone in particular and especially not George, but simply knowing that he felt as lost as he did right now didn't boost his confidence in trying to look out for the outsider he'd grown so protective over.
George seemingly noticed the shift in tone, not saying a work until they reached the library.
"You were right, it is quite a large building," the brunette started as he craned his neck upwards to scan the height of the towering structure. Parts of it was abolished and wrecked, just as Dream remembered it.
The pair walked inside once no one was around on the streets to notice them. Not that it would particularly matter if someone were to spot them, however, it would seem out of the norm for someone of this society to actively try and learn more about a world that no longer existed.
It was dimly lit within the building, the only light coming from candles that seemed to be recently ignited and the street lights from the outside shining through the windowless frames - a carcass of what once shielded out the cold and the noise.Dream chose not to speak once they entered. There was something about the ambience that radiated from the building that simply demanded silence. It would make sense if the fallen ones had purposefully come to the area to read - for it to be quiet.
"There you are," Karl exclaimed, his voice echoing through the barren insides of the building. "We've been looking for the past twenty minutes and still no luck."
"What Karl means to say is Ranboo's been looking, Quackity found a section full of thin looking books with naked people in them and Karl and I have been searching for other things between the bookshelves" Sapnap stated, a smirk crossing his lips as the other playfully punched his side. Dream couldn't help but scoff and shake his head at the brief interaction before making his way to Ranboo.
"What do you need us to do?" Dream asked, leaning against the table that the half-masked male situated himself at, head already deep in a book.
"I need- well I don't really know what I need you to do- I'm literally just as lost as any of you would be in this place for once." He started. The males face was still looking at the text printed out on the paper and even though half of his expression would be covered. Dream could tell from the wrinkles forming between the other's eyebrows, that he was in a state of frustration and discomfort at the thought of not knowing what to do.
