Chapter 3: Did someone miss their beauty rest?

You woke up in your room after a long week of MAD training and took a deep breath in and then let it out. You sat up and stretched your arms in the air as your spine curved a bit. When you finish stretching you let out a grunt of relief, you slowly got out of bed and put a clean shirt on, not bothering to fix your bed head hair. You walked out of your room to be met by Talon who had a happy grin on his face for some reason.

You chuckled, "what's up with you?" Talon quickly responded by showing you a magazine with him in the front cover. "Look! I made the front cover of the magazine!" Talon said excitedly. You smiled seeing him happy and congratulated him. "Well I'm very glad you are happy, Talon." He noticed your eye bags from exhaustion from training. "Did someone miss their beauty sleep?" He'd smirk as he teased you.

You rolled your eyes with a small smile. "Yeah yeah, don't rub it in. What are you doing up?" You questioned. "Dr. Claw had a new mission for tonight so he had me get all the other crew up. But for some reason you and I aren't going on the mission today, hm." Talon would think to himself yet you smiled. "Well then that means I get a day off!" Talon noticed your excitement and smiled back. "Yeah, maybe we can just hang out together today!" You both smiled at the idea. "I'm gonna get something to eat first, wanna come?" You asked. "Sure, I think we have cereal or eggs or something." Talon replied.

"Good enough for me." You said back. You and Talon walked to the kitchen and started making breakfast and laughed as you joked with each other. Once breakfast was made you both ate at the countertop and talked. "So.. you like Penny?.." You'd look at Talon with a hint of sadness in your eyes. He looked back at you and scratches his head, "Well, she is very annoying when I'm trying to do my missions, but she and I have bonded a bunch, so I think so, I don't know. It feels like my feelings are changing and I don't know why..." he'd frown.

You saw his sadness and held his hand. "It's okay, feelings are confusing, you don't have to know the answer right away." You'd say with empathy. Talon looked at you and he felt his face flush up and pull his hand away. "Uh- y-yeah I know that heh." You'd smile and kept eating your food as Talon looks at you a bit longer before doing so as well.

Later you and Talon are playing video games, and he keeps losing since he hasn't had time to practice. "Aw! Come on y/n! Let me win at least once!" He complained. You laughed "Nope! I will be the f/g champion!" While Talon struggles, you are acting like you are playing against a child and win again. Talon groans and falls back against his bed. "I give up, you win." He'd close his eyes as you do a victory dance and then lay with him on his bed and you both face each other. "You're good at that game" Talon would say. You snicker "I know"

Talon would look at you before moving a bit closer. You notice he moved closer to you and you did the same. Both of your noses were about to touch as you looked into each other's eyes. "Why does this.. feel...right?" He asked "you tell me..." You replied. You looked at each other a bit longer before Talon slowly held your hand and you hesitantly held his in return. You both enjoyed this moment hoping it never ended.
