It had been a while since I had been to a party but tonight was going to change all that. I had gotten an invite to a tv and movie fancy dress party and it was the best excuse to get me out of the house and out of the slump I had been in.

I had thought long and hard about my costume and come to the conclusion that going as Calypso from my favourite movie Pirates of the Caribbean was the only logical option.

I arrived at the party smiling through the anxiety that was telling me to turn around and head home. I slowly walked over to the bar. I ordered a large gin and tonic and smiled once more as I looked around the room.

Loads of people most of I didn't know were drinking and dancing and getting to know one another. I saw a guy over in the corner seemingly on his own dressed as Captain Jack. I smirk as I made my way over to him.

"You did not bring your jar of dirt Jack. How can you be sure Davy Jones won't be coming for you?" I smile widely as he let out a soft smile. "May I sit?" I asked as her sipped on what I assume was whisky. He nodded his head and I sat in the chair beside him.

"So what are you doing over here all on your own?" I asked taking a sip of my own drink.
"Contemplating something."
"Which is?"
"Why such a pretty girl came and sat beside me." He smirked as his eyes met mine. My cheeks began to heat up as I looked back into his. My mouth must of dropped open. "Shush. Please I don't want anyone to know I'm here. It's not my party it would be wrong to upstage the host."

I simply nodded before downing the rest of my drink calming down my heart rate and forever elevated anxiety. We talked for a while. Mostly about me which I enjoyed and he seemed to as well. We talked about hopes and dreams passions and pet peeves.

When the end of the night rolled around he offered to give me a ride home. "I hope you have someone sober who can drive because I'm not getting in the car otherwise." He laughed softly as we waited outside for his driver.

His hands around my waist he pulls me in closer his lips inches from mine. And he uttered 7 little words that would change my life forever.

"Where have you been all my life?"
