"How has your week been?" Dr Laufeyson asked as you sat down, not acknowledging the fact that you were ten minutes late. Your mind went over the events that had happened since you last saw him. Sex with Stephen, having to beg Bucky to collect your car from the gala the next day, drunken karaoke, crying and staring up at the ceiling for over an hour yesterday.

"Great thanks." You smiled "how about you, how's your week been?"

The question caught Loki off guard leaving him adjusting his tie as he cleared his throat remembering the events of the week. He had somehow welcomed Darcy back into his life and apart from work, hadn't been up to much else.

"I've been good, thank you for asking." He smiled politely. "Is there anything in particular you'd like us to talk about today?" He asked. You shook your head no. "If it's alright with you, I'd like us to talk a little more about your past relationship."

You took a deep breath before releasing it as you tried to keep yourself contained. You knew that speaking about Curtis was inevitable but it didn't make it any easier.

"Last week we touched on the subject of your previous relationship and you got a little upset." He recalled.

"Yeah." You agreed.

"How long was you in the relationship for?" He questioned.

"Two and a bit years."

Dr Laufeyson wrote something down before he continued to speak.

"Did you love him?"

"Coming on a bit strong there." You deflected with a small chuckle.

"Sorry." he apologised "let me rephrase that. Do you think he loved you?"

There was a pregnant pause as you thought over you and Curtis' relationship. He loved you, he did, it was just that his love was harsh, it was cruel. For Curtis, love wasn't flowers and small kisses, it was demanding power and control. He loved you when he was in control. He loved you.

"Yes." You finally answered.

"Alright, tell me more about this relationship." Dr Laufeyson prompted, sitting back in his chair.

You looked away from him, focusing on the minimalistic paintings as you thought back to when you first met Curtis before you began to speak. He had been introduced to you by your parents at one of their fancy galas. His family were as wealthy as yours, even more so and you were single. In the eyes of your parents, that was enough. You didn't miss their stern glances at you when you spoke with him. The traits that grew nauseating during the relationship were part of what attracted him to you in the first place. He spoke about himself a lot which gave you a break from having to always be the one to initiate conversations. He even got into a fight once at a bar when a guy started hitting on you. You were young, naive and he was Prince Charming.

Loki nodded occasionally as he listened to you speak, willing himself to focus on the movement of your lips as opposed to your low cut top. Had you done that on purpose he thought, daring a glance down. It was wrong, definitely inappropriate and he knew that which is why he then decided he'd write things down so that he wouldn't have to look at you at all. He needed to calm himself down, at least until your session was over and he could either find his nearest cold shower or lock the door and relieve himself in the comfort of his office. Curse Darcy and her banana smoothies and avocado toast, he didn't need anything else boosting his libido. The worst thing about Darcy being back in his life was that she'd purposely work him up only to not have sex with him. Everything had to be on her terms. They technically weren't back in a relationship so Loki knew he could have sought comfort elsewhere but decided against it. He'd wait until Darcy wanted him.

"Sorry am I boring you?" You asked, watching Loki as he lazily drew scribbles in his notebook.

"No!" He insisted "not at all. I was just thinking." He admitted, internally scolding himself after he did.

"What about?" You smiled coyly.

"Nothing in particular." He answered, shaking the crude thought from his mind.

"I once read in GQ magazine once that men think about sex every seven seconds." You grinned "are you?"

"What?" He choked.

"Thinking about sex?" You clarified.

"No!"

"Then what are you thinking about?"

"You." He replied.

"Me?" You smiled, biting your lip flirtatiously.

"Your relationship, you were telling me about it." He clarified "please continue."

"We rushed into things pretty quickly. I wanted freedom from my parents and he wanted a plaything he could control. I couldn't see it at the time though, all I saw was someone who liked me and who my parents wouldn't do a whole DBS search into."

"Plaything?" Loki repeated "what do you mean by that?"

"He used me, I was his plaything." You answered simply.

"What did he do? You can answer in your own time, no rush."

You looked away from the Doctor, face falling before you looked back towards him with a wide smile.

"We've had such great weather this past week, wouldn't you agree Dr Laufeyson?"

"Y/n." He interrupted, arching his brow.

"I want to talk about the weather." You stated.

"The therapy won't work for you if you don't work for it. We've got to talk about—"

"You're still getting paid at the end of it regardless of what we talk about." You huffed.

"But I want to help you." He countered.

"Why?"

"Because I'm your therapist."

"1,2,3,4,5." You counted, looking at him.

"What are you—"

"Seven seconds."

Loki cleared his throat, eyes widening at your insinuation.

"Y/n we need to ta—" he began before the door knocked. "Come in." He called.

"Dr Laufeyson your next appointment is here." Natasha spoke, barely opening the door.

"Thank you." He answered before turning to you "we'll talk more next week?" He said almost questioningly wondering whether you'd even be back next week. It didn't seem like you were ready to speak and he didn't want to push you.

"I'll see you next week Dr Laufeyson." You smiled before making your way towards the door.
