It's been two weeks since I last saw him; since our last encounter.
I'm still not sure if I'll ever be able to forgive him for what he did. He tries to contact me, and I ignore him. He showed up at my job and I left early. The only thing he hasn't done is, come to my apartment to see me.
Then, I hear a knock on the door. Only one person would come here at the hour of 22:00. I know it is him.
I go over to the door and look out the peephole. He stands in the doorway with his arm on the frame of the door and his head down. Then I-I open the door and let him in. While he walks to the couch, he doesn't say a word, not even looking at me.
"Please- let me explain-"
"Why? Why should I? You know that you are the only family I have ever had really," I say with tears in my eyes.
"I screwed up, and I screwed up bad," he says crying.
"I was just trying to get liked," he says with his head down.
"Since when do you care about that type of stuff?" I ask genuinely wanting to know.
"I have no idea honestly. It just kind of happened one day," he says.
"At least now I know why you didn't answer your phone that one night. The night I really needed you," I say crying.
"What are you talking about? You mean that one Tuesday you don't like to talk about?" he asks.
"Yes that one. I really needed you that night," I say balling.
"Look, I know I'm thin ice but I'm sorry for not being there for you. I would have been there if-"
"I don't want to hear your excuse. I was f*€king r@ped," I say.Gabriel lifts his head up and looks at me with tears in his eyes, ready to cry. Then Gabe scoots over and pulls me down to comfort me. He wraps his arm around me and pulls me into his chest.
We sit there for what feels like an eternity, just in each other's arms.
"Are you still coming on Thursday?" he asks.
"What's Thursday?" I ask.
"The trials start on Thursday," he says.
"Of course, I'll be there. I might not like you at the moment but we're family," I say looking into his grey eyes."Also, I know we're not on the best of terms but, do you want to elope?" He asks holding my hand.
"I'm not sure Gabriel..."
"Please Talia. If I want anyone to have my last name, it would be you," he says still holding my hand.༄
Right when he says that Tyler walks in for our weekly hangout, breaking the awkward silence between the two of us in the room.
"Who's ready for some games?- Am I interrupting something-" Tyler awkwardly asks.
"No no, please come in," says Talia rather quick.
"Are you sure?" Tyler asks skittishly.
"Yes of course," Talia says quickly.
"Alright then," Tyler says. The rest of the night went on. We played games and drank. Then we sat down and watched a movie until everyone fell asleep. The next thing we know, it's morning.
