I sat on a stool in the middle of a hall with many people sitting at four tables.

One table was reserved for the Gryffindors, where my older brother James was at, watching me intently.

The table next to it was reserved for the Ravenclaws, where my cousin Victorie and Molly sat, wondering where I'd be placed.

On the other side of the Ravenclaw table, was the Hufflepuff table. Nobody in my family was in Hufflepuff, at least not now anyway.

The final table was Slytherin, which was full of people who seemed to look a little unhappy.

The only person there that I knew was Scorpius Malfoy, who was my new friend.

"I see you feel... A bit lonely inside... Oh, yes, you're cunning."

"Cunning?" I replied to the hat inside of my head.

"Yes, you're really resourceful too."

"I suppose..." I thought back to him.

"Ambitious too... I know where to put you..."

I gulped. Where would I be?

"Better be... SLYTHERIN!"

Silence.

Then the silence was no more, because the Slytherin table shouted in excitement.
