I studied her from head to toe and breathed in realisation. "Myunghee?"
"You know me?" Her cold expression dropped and was replaced with a confused frown.
I broke out into a big smile, delighted to see that she has grown up so well. "Yes! Of course! I-It's me, Yujin unnie! Do you remember me?!"
I was ready to launch her a big hug, but Myunghee stepped back, still seeming skeptical.
"Yujin...?" She muttered to herself until she remembered. "Ahh. That Yujin," she shrugged cooly.
My heart sank. It seems like she remembered me but she wasn't glad at all. And what does THAT Yujin mean?!
I started to feel awkward. "H-How have you been? It's been so long..." I kept up my smile but she kept a straight face.
"I'm good. It's been so long so why bother asking? It's not like you'll come back if I said otherwise."
I remember how bubbly and cheerful Myunghee was as a child, but now in her teenage years, she is a girl with a strong disposition and a mind of her own. My heart sank deeper, along with guilt. I was guilty of missing out on the years she went through with Myungho alone.
"W-Would you like a drink? Water or t-tea?" I made my way towards the kitchen but she intercepted me by going to the fridge.
"You don't have to try so hard," she sighed loudly, and took a can of coke for herself. "I've been here a hundred times more than you. Pretty sure you're the guest in my brother's house, not me."
She was acting like a brat but I couldn't fight back at all. I was the timid one here. "I'm sorr-"
"-Did I leave the door open?" Myungho wondered out loud as he slipped through the door with cardboard boxes in his hands. I stood there awkwardly, waiting for him to realise who else came by.
"Ya. Oppa." Myunghee said in a dry tone.
He turned to her voice immediately and was pleasantly surprised. "Myunghee? Since when did you come? Why didn't you tell me? I could've picked you up!"
Myunghee leaned on the kitchen sink and drank her coke. "Why? I can't come over whenever I want?"
"That's not what I mean. I've been busy and it's a bit messy in here, as you can see." Then he looked up and met my eyes. "Oh, right. You must've met Yujin by now. Remember her?"
"Yeah. I remember." Myunghee shot her cold eyes at me before turning back to Myungho. "So what's with the mess? You haven't been calling so I came by to see what's up."
"Well," He scratched the back of his head. "Guess I've been too busy to update you... but I'm moving out of this apartment today."
Myunghee choked on her coke. "WHAT? Moving out where?!"
Let's not forget that I'm still in the house too, but I stayed quiet.
"Somewhere, near the studio."
"Isn't this near your studio? You moved here because you said it was the cheapest and the nearest!"
"Our new apartment is near and affordable too. It's bigger than this container place. You'll love it there." As Myungho spoke to her, he looked over at me.
"Our?" Myunghee looked between her brother and me.
"Yes. I'm moving in with Yujin." He straight-up admitted. There was no place for me to butt in.
