As the group followed behind Logan, I had to force myself to do anything other than think about what had happened during the running.
With that being said, I decided to fall into stride with the red-eyed man who had originally waited for me.
"Thank you for waiting on me. My name's Brynn. It's nice to meet you," I offered, holding my hand out to him with a half hearted attempt of a smile.
He watched my hand for a moment, before chuckling softly and reaching out to shake my hand firmly. "It's nice to meet you, Miss Brynn. Don't mention my waiting for you, it was just me taking the whole team thing seriously. I couldn't leave someone behind just like that. Oh, and my name is Ryker."
Ryker. I couldn't shake the feeling that I'd heard that name somewhere before. Not that the rest of my team allowed me much time to ponder on the thought.
"Brynn, how did you know where to go? Oh, and you, Ryker, it's nice to meet you," Zeke said loudly, reaching his hand out to Ryker as he'd let go of my own hand.
Ryker snorted another laugh and shook Zeke's hand. "Good to meet you as well. I suppose the rest of you may as well introduce yourselves. It seems like we're going to be spending a lot of time with each other in the near future anyways."
Blue eyed girl watched him as though he'd just committed a crime by even asking her to say something so simple as her name. After the long and continued silence though, she seemed to be a bit more willing as she was the next to introduce herself.
Before saying anything, she tucked a strand of dark haid back into her braid from where it had managed to slip out. She was a deadly kind of beautiful, and I couldn't help but admire her for it.
"I'm Dariya. Most just call me Riya," she eventually sighed, looking back at me in particular as though I was something small, or maybe even a bug to be squished under her perfect shoe.
The boys with hazel colored eyes finally decided to introduce themselves after this, and in turn saved me from continuing to endure the withering glare of Dariya.
Taller boy decided to speak first, and when he did it was with a relaxed smile. "I'm Hogan, and this is my twin brother, Raiden."
At the sound of his name, Raiden gave all of us a smile and a small wave to go with it.
With that I was sure to make a mental note of that, to help keep the two seperate in my mind. Hogan was the leading twin and Raiden was going to be his more quiet and composed counterpart.
"Well, I sure am glad that you all have saved me the trouble of asking what you're names are. Icebreakers aren't exactly quite the way to start our training together, and someone it doesn't feel right to do something as mundane as that after having you chased down through the woods and threatened. Either way, my name is Logan, but you can all call me Beta Logan and nothing more or less," he said, his tone starting out friendly, but then quickly going into a more defensive and rough sound.
As nice as he seemed at first, my gut didn't want me to trust Beta Logan like that. He put on a nice smile and all, but my wolf and I were in firm agreement that we didn't like him all that much. Something about him just didn't seem fully trustworthy.
The rest of my team members mumbled little hellos here and there, but none of them really seemed ready to outright greet the Beta.
It seemed my sentiments were being shared by most of us. Beta Logan just had a different feel to him, and none of us liked it.
Whether the bad feeling came from him being of a different pack that I simply had gotten accustomed to yet, and whether my dislike of him was warranted, I knew I had to keep an eye on my new Beta and mentor.
