The girl with the bright green hat in front of us seemed to be trying her best not to be blown away by the sandstorm, with a device in one hand and a pokeball in another. 'Perhaps she is the professor for this region' I thought. 'Can't hurt to ask'.

Tapping Cynthia on the shoulder and gesturing towards the gate entrance, we both made our way over whilst shielding our eyes from the ferocious sandstorm.

"Are you the professor?" I shouted, my voice being drowned out by the wailing winds.

The girl jumped up suddenly, startled and turning quickly. Now it was easier to see what the mystery girl looked like. Round green glasses, a big green hat and an orange thick jacket.

"Yes I am!" She shouted. "Who are you...?"

As I was about to answer, Cynthia stopped me and shouted back.

"I'm the champion of the Sinnoh region. And this is my husband Y/N."

The girl's eyes widened as if in shock. "Cynthia?!" she exclaimed. "You're friends with Caitlin, aren't you?" Cynthia nodded.

"Am I missing something here?" I asked.

Cynthia squeezed my hand and smiled. "This girl is Bianca, if I remember rightly. She took over from professor Juniper a few years ago"

"That's right!" Bianca shouted back, turning away. "Let's get out of this sandstorm and inside"

Reluctant to be out of the desert, after already getting covered head to toe in sand, I followed with Cynthia close behind.

Dusting off the sand and after drinking some water, we made conversation with Bianca about all the different Pokémon from Sinnoh and she would counter with Pokémon from Unova that I had never heard of before. Every time we mentioned a new Pokémon, Bianca's eyes would light up and she would furiously scribble down in her notepad as the explanation of the Pokémon's features, habits and location were told.

"There's Garchomp too, Y/N has a Garchomp that's a bit different from the usual" Cynthia spoke proudly, puffing her chest out a little.

"REALLY? CAN I SEE?" Bianca barely getting her words out before jumping up and down excitedly.

"Yes, but it might not be safe here in the gate" I sighed.

"This is perfect actually!" Bianca pulled out a small tablet and began tapping away. "We just invented a new energy zone to safely see Pokémon's abilities to the fullest and observe safely."

I raised my eyebrow, confused. I'd never heard of an energy zone before.

Bianca explained in more detail. "It's called the Hyper Spacial Zone. HSZ, for short. It ensures that any attack from a Pokemon will be absorbed by the energy field and will be transmitted into power we can use here in Unova. Instead of destroying our beautiful landscapes and habitats of our Pokemon here."

Cynthia's eyes widened. "It's finally been finished then?!"

Bianca nodded, and with one final tap on her tablet a small portal opened. Without a moment's hesitation, Cynthia jumped through the portal, dragging my hand and pulling me in with her. My eyes, blinded by the sudden change of light, started to adjust to see a beautiful scene of waterfalls and lush grass spreading for miles.

"Nothing in here can be destroyed, but it's been designed to look like a paradise" Bianca explained, walking through the portal to join us. "This is a safe place to unleash the potential of Pokémon without any consequences to the surroundings."

"As long as you're sure..." I answered, pulling out the master ball from my bag. I threw it into the open fields and with a deafening roar, Garchomp emerged and spread its wings out fully.

"A MASTERBALL????" Bianca stammered, shuffling through her notes and scribbling sketches. "Is it that rare?!?!?!"

Cynthia smiled and threw another pokeball into the field as well, revealing her Garchomp alongside mine.

"Y/N's Garchomp is one of a kind." Cynthia added.

Bianca immersed with writing down as much as possible, was frequently looking back and forth between the Pokémon and us.

"My Garchomp knows a move that it shouldn't have" I explained. "Garchomp. Dragon Dance."

A blue and yellow lightning surrounded Garchomp, engulfing it completely and sparking jolts of electricity. Eager to show off, Garchomp darted around the test area, weaving in and out of the trees and blasting through the waterfall.

"It's even faster than it was!" Bianca shouted, watching Garchomp with wide eyes. "But how does it know dragon dance? I thought it was too dangerous for that Pokémon to know it?" Bianca continued, reading off of her notes.

"That's what everyone thought yes" Cynthia smiled, "Until I met Y/N." A flood of warmth and memories washed over me, as Cynthia hugged me tightly. I smiled and welcomed the embrace.

This was perfect.
