CHAPTER TWENTY-FIVE

IVANNA MET BUCKY and Sam outside, Sam panicking as he turned to her.
"I called Steve," she said in a rushed tone, "I told him to watch over Sarah and your nephews till we get back."
"I just told Sarah to leave..."
"We can still get Steve to them wherever they go," she held her hands out, "trust me on this."
"I do," Ivanna nodded as Sam's phone went off. He fell silent as he read the notification, then reluctantly looked up at her and Bucky, "she said to come alone."
"You're crazy if you think you're going alone," Ivanna breathed. Sam was torn but slowly nodded his head.
They changed into their suits and went to the location given to them by Karli. Sam rushed in, calling for her and looking around. They eventually saw Karli peak over a banister and climbed up the stairs that led to her. Bucky and Ivanna let Sam approach her, using a different walk to watch the interaction.
"You called my sister?" Sam asked as he rushed toward Karli, "Is that how we're gonna play now?"
"I would never hurt her, I just wanted to understand you better," she said calmly, leaning on the banister. Bucky and Ivanna watched from afar and she nodded to the both of them, "I see you uhm...didn't come alone."
"You have to end this now," Sam ignored the last remark.
"I don't want to hurt you," Bucky was growing antsy, pacing in a small section where he stood, "you're a fool in the regimes I want to destroy. You're not hiding behind a shield. If I were to kill you, it'd be meaningless."
Sam glanced back at Ivanna and Bucky, but Karli didn't let any of them speak, "I was gonna ask you to join Emme. Or do the world a favor and let me go."
"Hey Sam," Sharon's voice came over Sam's comms, "new cap is moving. Looks like he found them, or they found him."
Sam looked back at Bucky, "It's Walker."
Bucky leaped over the banister, and so did Karli. She kicked him into a wall. Sam flew over and Ivanna jumped, landing on her feet and reaching up to Karli. She kicked Karli backward into Sam who sent her into a wall and looked at both Bucky and Ivanna.
"I'll send you the location," he spoke to Bucky, approaching Ivanna and grabbing her wrist, "go."
Sam took off, lifting Ivanna in the air and leaving Bucky to run. She gripped Sam tightly, knowing they were only flying a short distance. They didn't speak to each other. They didn't speak to Bucky.
