Preeta entered the room with eyes filled with tears and head hung low......she couldn't bear to look at Karan's suffering face.....
She did not have any strength to look at his pain
Karan cleared his throat weakly noticing Preeta's disturbed and pained face.....he was unable to look into her eyes......
His eyebrows knit in confusion when he saw her sitting on the chair next to his bed and placing her head on the edge of the bed sniffing and controlling a sob.....
He could sense the pain she went through while seeing him on the hospital bed like that....
Inhaling a deep breathe he placed his right hand lightly on her shoulder when she let her cries break through the silent atmosphere and burst into tears moaning and crying out loud.....
Preeta: am.....sorry...so...sorry Karan......i am the reason of you being shot and......and....
Karan: not a word more....come here.....
Preeta finally looked up to see him spreading his right hand for her and signing her to lean on his chest......
She smiled weakly before pecking his chest and resting the side of her face on his chest with her hands encircling his waist in a tight but careful grip....
She was still sobbing while Karan stroked her hair.....
Karan: mai thik hu Preeta.....see ekdum fit and fine.....am The Karan Luthra and uss ullu ke patthe ko mujhe maarne ke liye bohot mehnat karni padegi bohot deewarein todni padegi.....aur un sab deewaron mein se sabse strong (he pecked her forehead) dewaar meri jaan tum ho.....tumne kitni himmat ke sath un dono ki chutti kardi......well that's how i like my girl....brave and bold......
He giggled softly making her smile too......she looked up rising from his chest and looking into his eyes.....while he rubbed off the tears from her cheeks.....
she closed her eyes and inhaled deeply before opening them again and smiling at Karan.
He smilingly questioned her with his eyebrows raised.....
Preeta: tum na bohot ache ho.......self obsessed ho(chuckled seeing him pout) lekin itne selfless ki mere liye in fact mere kaaran itne chot kha kar bhi mujhe brave keh rahe ho......khud ki jaan ki parwaah kiye bina chaar goliyaan kha li mere liye....hospital bed par dard sehkar muskura rahe ho mere liye.....mai tumhe dard mein dekh kar ro na paru isliye apna dard aise chupa rahe ho jaise kuch hua hi nahi.....kyun ho tum itne ache Karan.....
She was in tears.....but he was just smiling......
Karan: self obesessed hu kyunki am The Karan Luthra.....aur khud ki jaan ki hi toh parwaah ki maine....remember?!.....jaan ho tum meri.....hospital bed per dard toh ho raha hai but tumhe fit and fine mere saamne dekh kar jo sukoon mil raha hai na woh tum soch bhi nahi sakti aur acha isliye hu kyunki tumse pyaar karta hu.....simple.....
Preeta smiled with the tears flowing down her cheeks and leaned on his chest while his hands automatically wrapped around her again....she mumbled softly but clear enough for him to hear....
Preeta: i love you Karan.....
Karan: i love you too Preeta.....
And with that the tired couple slept with a calmness and pleasure of being wrapped in their partner's arms.....
