It was dawn when she woke up.
I can't move... was the first thing she thought, followed by who's dragging me?
'I guess you have a lot of questions.' SapphireGaze perked her ears to Nettleflowers voice, the shecat grunting as they made their way uphill.
'You can't move because you're simply so numb after being dumped in a nearby almost-frozen lake.'
'But I don't feel anything....' SapphireGaze felt herself fading, the scenery becoming fuzzy.
Nettleflower laughed. 'You know how I said I'd fix it all? How to get rid of the Others?' She mewed as the brown molly dragged her mate up a steep hill. 'Well..'
SapphireGaze felt her head sting briefly before realizing that she was leaving a distinct trail of blood in her path.
'I want to sacrifice you. As an offering, y'know? Then the Others will be scared because their only asset is dead, then they'll leave me alone.'At this point, any cat would have cried and screamed and struggled.
'How?' She murmured woozily.
Nettleflower stopped, looking into SapphireGazes eyes.
'Through fire, duh. Isn't that how most sacrifices work?'
They had reached a cliff. Monsoon Cliff, SapphireGaze remembered. It was a long stretch of dead twigs and death until one reached the end. Then it looked pretty, with the sweet summer scent and the sun rays shining on your pelt. 'This is where I asked you to be my mate.' She purred.Nettleflower was staring into the sun.
'Yeah.' She looked down. But then, the brown molly looked up again, the spark in her eyes unrecognizable. 'I'll go get some dead sticks, and then It'll be over soon. For you and for me.' She trilled as the brown warrior skipped into the brush.SapphireGaze felt empty. She ignored the pounding of her head.
For a second, she thought she heard LilyCurl and her kits laughing together. StormChase praising her because she caught a squirrel. FrozenTwirl calling her Snowdrop.
It was silent, and there wasn't a bird in the sky.
SapphireGaze felt her legs moving. She could go now, the snow would hide her scent. But do I really want to go? Where? Another innocent clan waiting to die because of me?
The white shecat sighed shakily, facing the sky. It was as blue as her mother's eyes. Would I go to Starclan? Would they let me in?
The questions made her sick.It wasn't long before Nettleflower returned.
SapphireGaze felt sticks being piled up on her flank and on her back, followed by dried leaves. She didn't bother moving.
'That should burn bright.' Nettleflower purred.
I don't even recognize her.. and it's all my fault.
'Any last words?' The brown warrior was looking into the sun again. The breeze made her look so pretty, like they were apprentices again.
'Not really. Just.. where are you going when I'm dead?' SapphireGaze felt her back legs moving. She didn't want to move.'I heard a tale of other clans living under Monsoon Cliff. Clans who've only heard about the Others in a myth.' She whispered. 'It's such a shame you'll never see them.'
'I love you.' SapphireGaze looked up into her mates eyes. Her voice cracked.
Nettleflower was silent for a second, her green eyes shining. The sun shone on her pelt like a spotlight, the leaves around her rustling as if they knew what was going to happen.
She was starting the fire.
At first, it was a warm comfort from SapphireGazes dark thoughts. Then it become warmer, and burned, and in less then a second, her entire pelt was ablaze.
She stood up, mouth opening to cry out, but it was still silent. Nettleflower watched in awe.
SapphireGaze staggered, teetering at the edge of the cliff, her fur receding off her pelt and her skin being cooked swiftly. 'Let me help,' she heard. Water. SapphireGaze held her footing for a moment, eyes wide and mouth open as she tried to scream to let the pain go.Then she was falling.
Falling.
Falling..
Frozentwirl....

Horror'It was you.' Sapphire gaze took a step back, aghast. 'What do you mean? What did I do?' Nettleflower laughed, an unstable laugh. She advanced towards Sapphiregaze with her claws unsheathed. 'I should've known! Why you sleepwalk, why you never see...
