I started down the stairs again after standing still am for what seemed like a year. When I reached the bottom, I herd a bang right next to my head. I jumped and turned my flashlight to the left were the noise came from. Then to the right. Then back up the stairs behind me, I could feel my heart pounding a million times a minute.

I could barely breathe as the air was thicker then blood. I smelled what seemed to be burnt meat. My basement was big, it was one large room about the size of my house itself. It had tall windowless walls and spiderwebs in every corner.

That's when I herd a deep voice say "Come over here Cathy. I won't hurt you. I'm here to protect you." I saw two little red lights in front of me. And two little white lights to my left. "NO CATHY DON'T GO TO THE RED EYES!" I herd coming from the directions of the white eyes... That voice was sweet. "COME TOWRDS ME CATHY, I'LL PROTECT YOU." The more it spoke it sounded like my brother... Who died five years ago. About the time I started hearing the noises every year.
