"What kind of flowers does my lady like?" Seokjin asked you. A small smile played around his face while he strolled around the many bouquets in display, sniffing at each randomly. You couldn't help but laugh when a bee jumped out of a set of pink roses just as he was sniffing them. He was a difficult man to judge. You observed him while he walked around the little flower store.

He had a soft exterior. His short black hair was sleek and slightly curled at the edges and he had a different aura around him while dressed in casual wear. He seemed much more approachable, soft and familiar, but the atmosphere around him while in uniform couldn't be seconded. Authority seemed to spread in waves around him when wearing that white Navy attire.

"Any kind, captain. I've honestly never liked flowers too much."

"What?" He turned around to look at you with questioning eyes. "I've never seen a woman who didn't like flowers."

"I prefer the trees," you chuckled, holding onto your hat from the sudden wind that gushed through the stall.

"Ah, I'm sorry about that. Why don't you try loving flowers from now then? My wife loves them."

"Oh you're married?" You failed miserably in your attempt to hide your shock. Your eyebrows flew into your hairline and Seokjin undoubtedly noticed it too.

He looked younger than the age men typically get married. You were even surprised the first time you saw him since such young captains were very rare. Your eyebrows flew into your hairline and Seokjin undoubtedly noticed it too.

"You looked quite taken aback," he laughed. He brushed his fingers over a bouquet of peonies as he spoke. "Unfortunately for the young girls who loiter around my office at night I am already taken."

"Yes it's truly very sad, Captain Seokjin. You are a very charming man."

You were surprising yourself by your own words. Never in your life had you ever spoken so directly to anyone, especially when complimenting.

He wiggled his eyebrows but didn't comment on your words. Instead, he handed over the peony bouquet to you, walking over to the stall owner to pay.

You watched him from the sidelines. He smiled courteously at the old woman and spoke to her in clear french. You listened in admiration to his perfect pronunciation. Even though you were taught french since childhood by your governess back home you never reached that level of fluency.

The walk back was cheerful. The doubts you had on the ferris wheel were erased from your thoughts as you engaged in light-hearted banter with Seokjin. He wasn't too nice and wasn't cold in the least and it was impressive how he could keep you at ease in conversation unlike the many other men you've talked to.
