Third person's POV
It was night, around midnight to be exactly, and a boy was sitting down in the middle of nowhere looking at the stars, in the rain. Lately he couldn't sleep well so he would usually go outside and laid down in the grass. That calmed him down and helped him fall asleep.
He loves that place so much it was really peaceful and calm, like a library when you're all alone and you're reading your favorite book in silence or staying all alone in your house, in the night time, looking at the forest behind your house.
It usually was his kind of atmosphere but ...... it still wasn't perfect, something was missing or, better said someone.
That someone made him feel better every time without him, he was lonely. A lonely boy in a cruel world, that's how he felt sometimes. But that someone knew how to make him smile no matter the situation. Every time he would think at him he would smile. Per short he was his sunshine.
Now let me tell who they are, the first boy sitting in the rain is called Giyuu Tomioka and his reason to smile in no other than his childhood friend Sabito.
They have been together since they were kids. They were trained by the ex water hashira Urokodaki Sakonji. They were kids who were meant to be great, brave and known for their abilities. Kids with a great future ahead of them and who were now the best water breathing users from the whole Demon Slayer Corps. One was a hashira the other one a kinoe.
They were best friends but lately Tomioka started to develop feelings for his friend, but he was afraid. What if what he felt would destroy their relationship? What if Sabito would think that he is disgusting? That would only make him think he is worthless. That's why he never talked with anyone about the feelings be has. Maybe they will make fun of him or even worse.
It happened to him once. When he was five or six years old he had a ,,friend" even if he would act terrible towards Giyuu he would still be beside him whenever he needed.
Let's call that fake friend Alex (sorry for anyone named Alex and reading this story. It's the first name that came in my stupid brain) .
Alex usually left Giyuu for other guys and then just made fun of him. But if someone made fun of Alex Giyuu would protect him.
You might say right now: why wouldn't Giyuu leave him? He seems horrible.
Let me answer that. Alex was the only friend Giyuu had at the time so he didn't want him to leave.
Afterwards Giyuu left with his sister and she died protecting him. Then as he was running in the forest Urokodaki found him.
Then he met Sabito and his life was a lot better. They became friends and everything was awesome.
Since they were thirteen Giyuu started to feel different towards Sabito. He didn't know what it was but now he knows for sure. His heart would start and beat faster, sometimes even his face warm up. His smile was his sunshine and he loved it.
In the present time, as I said in the beginning of this story, Giyuu was staying in the rain. He loved that peace and quiet from there. He also just had a nightmare before and woke up, that would be an other reason.
But he never imagined this would happen.
Back at the water estate Sabito also woke up. He wanted to see Giyuu and talk to him for a bit. That calmed him down everytime. Talking to the closest person to you when you are sad it's always working.
When he got to his room he knocked.
*knock* *knock* *knock*
''Giyuu are you there?''
When he opened the door a weird emotion took all over him.
Tomioka wasn't there and that made him panic the fact that outside was raining cats and dogs also scared him.
< Is he outside? O-or if someone came in while I was sleeping? If he's outside he would get sick. And what if it will be really bad?>
Sabito never felt this kind of feeling. Giyuu was always there and never disappeared. It scared him so much. There were so many possibilities of what could have happened to him.
He took his rain coat, an other one (for Giyuu in case he finds him) and, of course, his katana. He went outside to search for the person who he was apparently in love with.
When Sabito met Giyuu he liked him. At that moment he only wanted him as a friend but now he wants be with him and be there for him no matter what would happen. He wanted to give his love to him amd never let go.
But the same as Tomioka he was afraid for their relationship he had only one question and that was: what if he will leave me if I tell him?
That question would make him cry everytime he thought about it.
At some point in Sabito's desperate run he kicked something one the floor. It wasn't like wood it was softer it wasn't like he kicked jt hard anyway. It was just like a body. He turned around and he felt just like he woke up from a horrible nightmare.
In the same time the boy who was laid down was now sitting and looking at his friend.
''What are you doing here?'' Giyuu asked.
''I was looking for you idiot! You scared me.''
''How did I scare you?''
''You left! I thought something bad happened while I was sleeping and couldn't help you. It was horrible.''
''Well I'm fine. Wanna lay down with me?
Sabito nodded and sat next to his friend covering him up with the other coat he bought with him.
''So what are you doing here? It's passed midnight.''
''I had a nightmare so I came here. It relaxing and always calms me down.''
''You could at least took something on. Not just a t-shirt and long pants you know?''
''Yea don't worry.''
When Giyuu went outside he was in some longs pants with he color of dark blue and a light blue t-shirt.
Then Sabito just hugged him.
''Don't you ever do that again understand?''
Tomioka giggled.
''If you say so.''
Sabito got up and reached out for Giyuu. After he got up he wanted to talk about it.
''Hey Sabito can I tell you something?''
''Of course.'' And he smiled.
<I want to tell him even if he's going to hate me. I just want him to know>
But right when he opened his mouth his words didn't wanted to come out.
''Is everything alright Giyuu?''
Yet he said nothing.
Then it happened. Giyuu did it so fast that Sabito didn't had time to react at all.
You might be wondering what right? Well he conected their lips. Since he couldn't say anything he could do it.
When they pulled apart Giyuu was red and Sabito was shocked.
''I'm sorry I shou-''
Giyuu was interrupted by Sabito connecting their lips again.
''It's alright. I waited for this.''
''So you like me too?''
Sabito smiled and said:
''Of course. You make me smile and make everything in my life better. I love you so much I can't even express in words.''
They both smiled and kissed.
