"I don't know Mikal. What if I go through the same thing again with him? I don't want to ever re-live those moments being with him."

"Has it seem like he's changed?" Mikal asks eating a few fries from his tray. We're eating on this outside on the patio of this restuarant since it's a nice cool breeze out. Just catching up and filling each other in on life.

"I don't know. He seems optimistic. He's so excited about the baby, he's been very helpful financially even though Kaiir was straight regardless."

"Just give him a chance, I don't think he would do wrong by his own seed. Especially since you're saying he's so happy about the baby. Just keep it at co-parenting."

"Yeah that's what mama said too. Then I don't know how he would feel about Devin, I don't even know if he'll still be around after my baby. Even though we're friends, I've never been in a situation like this. Having a guy friend and being pregnant. It's my first time dealing with all this shit man, I don't know how any of this is going to go. Kason is obviously still jealous of any guy I get close to."

"Don't think too much on it, just see how it all plays out."

"Yeah you're right. You heard from your sister lately? We haven't talked in about a month."

"Yeah, they're letting her come home for Christmas."

"That's great! Maybe I can see her too."

"Yeah, I'm sure she'd love to see you. I can tell she's been doing much better, we've actually been able to talk about some things."

"Well I'm so glad to hear that, I've always wanted better for Malaysia. She needed that help."

"Yeah she did," Mikal pauses, "Aye...what's up with ya boy?"

"Who?"

"Dude, Alex!"

"Oh yeah, him," I roll my eyes and Mikal scoffs.

"Do y'all still communicate? I haven't talked to him in a minute, I gotta check on my boy."

"No...we don't talk at all."

"Did y'all end off on a bad note?"

"No. We talked...he wanted to continue to fix us but like I told him, we're just not meant to be together so we should move on."

"I understand. Y'all definitely done been through some shit."

"Yeah and I can honestly say I'm completely over Alex. We shared some great times together. I'm talking about we really been through some shit, but it's always something in our way of happiness so I just feel like I should take those curveballs being thrown at us, as a hint. He's not the one for me..."

"Damn, you really feel like that?"

"When the universe speaks, you listen. Wynter taught me that."

"Her weird ass. She's cute though."

"Get off my girl! She's a sweetheart."

"Anyway," Mikal chuckles, "You ready for motherhood?"

"I am! I'm super excited!"

"I'm gonna have to teach lil' cuz how to hoop like big cuz. I'ma have him right. Wow, my first lil' cousin, this shit gone be so crazy."

"I know, like I'm really 'bout to be somebody mama. Me, lil' ole Kayla."
