My body is trembling in this stretched Dior dress. This is my first encounter with a millionaire. I don't even know how I got myself in this shit. I came to here to focus my studies on becoming strictly, a lawyer. I want to defend the good and just that. Not sell my soul for millions but right now, my life depends on it. Law school is a process and no, it won't save my sister right now. So I have to do what I have to do at this moment.
"Lori Sweets?" he asks.
"Yes," I respond with a smile. He's not bad looking though. He has a million dollar smile to match his bank account. Mercii knew how to pick them. I'm his exact height with these heels on but he's handsome. Rich, white guy with blue eyes and dark hair wearing a suit that probably costs my entire tuition. This is paying my tuition though and also saving my sister. She's here illegally, but I have no idea where she is. We were separated once we left Sudan and she's a fugitive. I've been trying to find her so I can help her get her papers but it's been a wild goose chase at this point. I'm not giving up on her though. When you get into something like what I'm in, it's hard to just up and let it go. Mercii is powerful and crossing her is pretty much, getting my little sister deported, my education going down the drain and everything I ever worked so hard for coming to an end. This is why I do what I do. I'm a survivor. Mercii can be ruthless when need be, but she also is trying to help me. So if it means I have to go on a couple dates with rich men or sometimes have sex with them, then hey. It is what it is. Sometimes I enjoy it, sometimes I don't. There's a protocol to follow when things get out of hand. I'm just doing what I gotta do to get where I'm going and the only way is up.

"Your name is?"
"Jim. Jim Wilkins. Are you ready to proceed my lady?" he reaches his hand out.
"Yes," I agree and he leads me towards the hostess.
"Reservation for Wilkins," he says eloquently. The hostess smiles and leads us to an elevator. This restaurant is way beyond my taste. It even smells rich. We end up on the roof of the restaurant "Delicassé" and it's the most beautiful setting I've ever seen! The moon is shining bright along with the stars, the dining area, water fountain, the live orchestra, everything is perfect.
Jim lets out my seat for me to sit, and then he sits across me. There is a bucket of ice and expensive champagne and wine that I can't pronounce, already at our table. The waiter hands us a menu and asks if we would like for her to pour us a drink. We nod and she proceeds to pour us a glass of champagne.
"To new beginnings," Jim toasts and I smile and we click glasses and drink. Eww this shit is nasty!!
"I'll give you time to look over your menu," the waiter states and leaves. I can feel Jim staring at me and I peep up from my menu to meet him with a smile.
"Why are you looking at me this way?"
"You're just so damn beautiful."
"Why thank you Jim."
"You're welcome. So, Lori, what is it that you do?"
"Well, I'm a sophomore at UCLA studying Pre-Law. I model on the side for fashion boutiques in LA."
"That sounds lovely. I'm willing to support you every step of the way."
