Chapter 4

Authors note: It has been a few days since Arika moved down to Cali, so she is already about to go to school during this time except it’s a Friday so there are only two days not counting Friday until school is in session. 

We ended up racing to the arcade, Alyx and I had been skating for a few mins now so I looked down at my phone to check the time, and all of a sudden I heard Alyx say something.

“AH! WAI-” Alyx cried out, falling onto the ground, huh?”I looked up from my phone and I realized I was about to crash into Alyx because they had fallen on the floor. “AH HOLD ON WATCH O-” Alyx “Hey, are you okay?”I asked them, “ How did you do that?!” Alyx asked, “I just swerved to the side-” “That was cool..teach me ”Alyx cut me off, “You want me to teach you to swerve..?” I asked confused, “Yeah, later can you teach me?” Alyx asked, “Oh- Uh sure!” I replied. 

We texted Eclipse we were going to be a bit late because we had stopped at a pharmacy to get Alyx bandages.

“Are your arms and legs okay?”I asked as I helped Alyx put the bandages on their knees and elbows, “Yeah, it didn’t scrape a lot. What about you?”Alyx said, “I didn’t even fall?”I said confusedly... “Oh, you dropped this Ari,” Alyx said, “Oh thanks..”I said as they handed it to me, “What is it?” Alyx asked, “Oh, it’s just a pin a friend of mine made,” I said. We were walking for another five minutes and we finally had gotten there, “Hey, can you hold this really quick so I can switch my shoes?” Alyx asked, handing me their phone “Isn’t that Eclipse..?”I asked under my breath, “Where?”Alyx asked, “Right there..”I said, “What? Where!” Alyx asked again, “Right there,” I grabbed her head and made her face towards Eclipse, “Is she talking to him..?!”Alyx questioned, “It looks like it ”I replied, 

Five minutes earlier Eclipse’s perspective: 

“Where are they?”Eclipse thought.. She started to look around outside and inside to see if she could find them but then she had gotten a message from Alyx saying Ari and Alyx had to make a little stop at the pharmacy for some bandages, “I guess I’ll just play some of the games while I wait,” Eclipse thought. She walked inside to get a card to be able to play the games, “Here you go” The person said, “I like your hair, it looks cool” Eclipse complemented, “Oh, thanks!” The person said. Eclipse walked away to find a game. “That game looks cool,” Eclipse thought. She walked over to it and was about to sit in the two-player game but then someone else sat down at the same time. He didn’t notice he had made Eclipse fall until one of that boy’s friends said, “DUDE YOU MADE THAT GIRL FALL!”

“Idiots..”Eclipse mumbled under her breath “Oh! I’m sorry” The boy had got up to give Eclipse his hand, Eclipse grabbed his hand and he helped her back up, “Sorry about that,'' The boy apologized again, “Whatever..” Eclipse muttered, “Hey dude we gotta get going, you coming?” The boy’s friend asked, “I’ll talk to you guys tomorrow.” The boy said, “Okay, see ya dude,” The boy’s friends left. “Are you two going to be going into the battle together?”The game said, “Two..?” Eclipse thought, “Oh, hi again do you mind if I play this with you?”The boy asked, “Oh- uh, sure..” Eclipse replied, “Thanks.”The boy said, “I’m Lucas,” He introduced, “Cool?” Eclipse replied, “What school are you going to after the break?” Lucas asked. “Why are you asking me?” Eclipse asked. “I just wanna get to know you better” Lucas replied. “Why?” Eclipse asked. “I don’t know, you just seem interesting” Lucas replied with a smile. “Uh, Okay, well I go to Silver Peirce middle school. I’m in the 9th grade and this is my last year at Silver Peirce .” Eclipse replied, “I go to silver pierce too. I’m in the robotics club.” Lucas added, “I’m in the-” Eclipse started, “You’re in the women's empowerment club, right?” Lucas cut off, “Yeah actually” Eclipse replied. “That means your name is Eclipse, right?” Lucas asked, “Mhm, that’s me.”Eclipse said, “What types of movies do you watch?”Lucas asked, “Mainly marvel,” Eclipse said. “I have a bunch of funny memes to show you after this game then,” Lucas said, “You watch marvel too?” Eclipse asked, “Of course” Lucas replied. “Hey, do you mind if I get your-” Lucas was saying. “Hey over here!” Eclipse shouted cutting off Lucas without realizing it. “Oh hey Eclipse, you ready?” Alyx asked running to her and hugging her. Eclipse turned to Ari, “I’m Eclipse, I was supposed to be your tour guide through the school and I’m the head leader of the women's empowerment group,”

 “Oh, my name is Ar-” I muttered right before I started backing away because there were too many people there then suddenly, Alyx shouted “Ari?!.. Wait! Watch out!” “h-huh?!”I stammered. I fell back about to crash into the ground. My eyes shut as I knew I was about to hurt the fuck out of myself. Then suddenly I felt a firm grip on my waist. 

“What the hell..? I don’t feel hurt?..” I thought, 

“Ari, are you okay?” Alyx asked, 

“Good question,” I thought, 

I opened my eyes to realize there was a boy who had caught me from me falling, 

“Pfft.. They were both too stunned to speak” Eclipse added, Alyx started laughing and so did that other person Eclipse was talking to, I and the person starred at each other for a good five minutes before he realized what it looked like we were doing and then he put me back on my feet again. The person who caught me was about to just leave, I grabbed his arm “H-hey, wait” I stuttered, “Yeah?”The person replied, “Thank you.” I said. He had such a soft smile, I couldn’t help but smile back.. “CRUSH AL-” Eclipse shouted, I cut her off as I dragged both her and Alyx out of the arcade, “Geez, you look like a tomato!”Eclipse said, “Shush,” I replied, in my head, I was screaming on the inside, “We come back to the arcade again tomorrow?”Eclipse asked, “Definitely” Alyx replied, “Most definitely..” I replied,
