BETH'S P.O.V

"I have to go." I mumbled against Nathan's neck.

He sighed quietly and tightened his grip on my waist

"I don't want you to go back there. Will your mum be there?" Nathan asked.

He sounded worried, and I would happily stay here with him. Fair enough, I didn't feel as safe as I could, but I felt safer here than I did at home.

"She'll be at work." I told him, as I sat up in his bed.

"You're staying here then."

"Nathan, if my mum knows I skipped school today she'll flip. She'll be even worse if she knows I've just slept with my teacher."

"I don't want you going home if only he's going to be there. If he hurts you again, I'll fucking kill him."

I looked at Nathan and sighed. His expression was hurt, and pissed off.

"You can't do anything to him Nath, if you do he'll know something's up and I don't want him hurting you." I sighed as I stroked his cheek.

"He won't, but I'm not sitting around watching him beat the shit out of you, Beth."

I stood up and quickly got dressed, choosing to ignore him.

I grabbed my phone and walked downstairs, hoping Nathan wouldn't follow me but of course he did.

He wrapped his arms around my waist from behind and I smiled slightly.

I wish I could stay here with him, but I didn't have a choice. No one knew about us, not even Lizzie.

"My number is now in your phone. You text me when you get home and if he hurts you again. I'll be straight over, alright?" Nathan said, his voice turning harsh and serious.

I nodded once and turned to face him.

"You're perfect you know." I told him, and I meant it. I meant it more than anything I had ever said in my life.

Nathan's face had a small smile appear and I pressed my lips against his.

"Remember, we've got the school trip tomorrow." Nathan told me, tightening his grip on my waist.

"I thought it was on Friday?" I said.

Nathan shook his head.

"It's been moved forward, so you'll have a few days away from the sick bastard that hurt you."

I sighed and looked at the floor.

"I think you should tell your mum, Beth."

"I can't. He makes her happy and I can't really take that away from her. I'd rather go through pain if it makes her happy." I told him.

"I'm not watching you get hurt in your own house Beth. I won't let him do that." Nathan sighed, running his fingers through my hair.

"Nathan, just leave it." I mumbled, looking at the floor as tears came into my eyes.

It was the thought of my mum being unhappy that made me upset. Fair enough, David was a cold heartless human, but he made my mum happy and I hadn't seen her this happy in years.

"Hey."

I looked up and smiled weakly, before Nathan pressed his lips against mine. I whimpered quietly, suddenly feeling sad.

"You know, I hate being with you sometimes." Nathan admitted, his voice sounding flat.

"Why?" I asked, frowning slightly and moving away from him.
