Chapter 19

*Fresh and Samantha *

Me and Mario's cousins sat in the waiting room all damn night.

Around 4 in the morning a doctor comes out.

"Family of Green" I got up alone cause his cousins was sleep.

"How are you related?" The doctor asked

"I'm his girlfriend"

"Well Mr.Green barely made it but we got everything running smoothly"

"Okay, can I see him ?"

"Sure follow me"

We walked through the hospital till we reached his room. I couldn't see him like that. I walked in and he was sleep I grabbed his hand and began to pray:

"Lord I know I don't do this much but I really need you. I need him his kids need him, lord I can't lose him. Please send down your angles and protect him Lord.

Amen"

I knew he wasn't dead or anything I just felt the need to do that. His eyes began to open and I was still crying.

"Please don't cry, baby I'm fine trust me" Mario said with his raspy voice.

"What was you doin there anyway" I said through my tears.

His head flung back and he rolled his eyes. As if I was supposed to know already.

"Do you know who yo daddy is?" He asked me.

"Obviously not" I sniffed

"Fresh, we've been at it since I was 18 and I was tryna come up in the game."

"Ok i don't want to talk about that right now" I said. I was just happy that he was breathing.

A couple hours had past and I was getting bombarded with calls from Trinity.

"I don't know what I would have did if you would have ya... Know" I didn't really want to speak that into existence.

"Take care of OUR kids" he said looking at the tv.

"By myself?" I smacked my lips.

"Idk why you doubt yo self"

Trinity called again and this time I answered.

"Hey Trin" I answered the phone

"Are you okay ? I seen yo truck on the news "

"Yes I'm fine hunny bun, you remember how you said you would move to Chicago with me ?"

"Yea..." she trailed off

"You need to start looking for an apartment cause when Mario get out the hospital we're driving back home"

"Ok I'll call you back "

"Why cant we fly back?" Mario asked me.

I straight faced him "You cant get on a plane because of your chest"

We were watching my wife and kids and his nurse came in and gave him his food. Which was only Jello. I knew he was mad cause Mario loves to eat and all they gave him was Jello.

"I love you Tyla" Mario said out of nowhere.

I got up and went next to his bed, I looked down at him and said. "I love you too" and kissed him. I started to cry again just at the thought of him dying.

Its been about a month since the whole incident at the warehouse and my dad was dead along with Samantha. I was going to fly back to go to his funeral but I decided not to because it was De'Mara's birthday my big girl is now 7. I missed being back home and I missed De. Trinity found a condo about 15 minutes away from Mario's house.
