The Hood | Part 1

8. The Lie

Around the same time Aizawa spoke to All Might before he left

"Your next session is next week. So, tell me why you stopped by" Midnight said as she and Bakugou sat across from each other again. Bakugou hesitated to speak up. He took a deep breath before speaking.

"I lied" Bakugou admitted.

"Lied about what?" Midnight asked clicking her pen.

"About what I saw" Bakugou said looking down at his lap.

"Is this about what happened at the camp?" Midnight asked. Bakugou just stared at his lap with his arms crossed. "Dont worry, feel free to take your time"

"He didn't die at the camp" Bakugou finally spoke. Midnight leaned forward, uncrossing her feet. She didn't say anything. "That damn handy man"

Bakugou watched Shigaraki place a hand on Midoryia's face as he slowly went through the warp gate

"He grabbed his face. That's when I originally thought he died." Bakugou said remembering the events during the summer camp.

"Then what happened?" Midnight asked.

"When I was on the otherside, I saw one of those Nomu things dragging his body"

Bakugou was forced down onto a chair as he watched a nomu drag Izuku's limp body across the floor. He was just in his red shoes and shorts with the homemade sling for both his broken and shattered arms.

"And then he said to me-"

"I'm sorry Kacchan" izuku spoke as he dragged into another room with the door shutting behind him.

"For those three days they had me, all I could hear were his screams"

"No, please! No please!"

"For three days straight, it was just constant screaming. I still hear them when I go to sleep." Bakugou said looking up at Midnight with his dark eyes. "But occasionally, there were times when they left and I could hear him talking."

"All Might, is that you? I know you'll come"

Bakugou sat there as he listened to Izuku's rambling through the door.

"I didn't need to see what those sick freaks were doing to him. I was too powerless to help him. It's my fault" Bakugou said as a tear formed in his eye. "On the day All Might showed up, I could hear him calling out for help."

"All Might!? Please, help!" Izuku called out through the door.

"But the heroes were too busy playing with villains" Bakugou said. Midnight stayed silent for a moment, writing on her notepad before speaking.

"Why did you lie?" Midnight asked.

"I-I-" Bakugou didn't know why. When he was being questioned, he was still trying to process everything he heard. "I don't know." He answered.

"How are you feeling?" Tsukauchi asked as he followed two paramedics pushing All Might on a stretcher.

"I'm doing alright. So far at least" All Might said with a smile and a thumbs up.

"Thats good. Sorry about your car" Tsukauchi said rubbing the back of his neck with a chuckle trying to lighten the mood.

"Its just a car. Plus I was thinking of getting a new one anyways. I just needed an excuse" All Might said keeping his smile.

"I see. But I got word that you weren't the target. You must've just been a distraction" Tsukauchi said as he followed All Might into an ambulance. "I can't say much right now. But apparently the real target was Stain."

"Stain?" All Might asked.

"While everyone was busy with your car exploding, someone snuck in and killed him," Tsukauchi explained. In the distance, the Red Hood was listening onto their conversation.

'Why target stain?' Red Hood asked himself as he watched the ambulance pull out of the area.

"I need to get in there" Red Hood said looking at the main entrance which was heavily guarded and on lock down. He scanned the area for a fault in their security. Luckily for him, one of the first things he did was download a 3D schematic of the prison. "Let's see. Eeny, meeny, miny, moe, which way, is the, best way, to break, into a prison, to solve, a murder" the red hood Saud as he went over possible entrance until he found a  vent that should be open even during a lock down. "Bingo" he said putting away his phone
