Beauty and the Bully

Chapter 4

Angel's POV

"I'm home baby", my Dad shouted from the house entrance while taking off his shoes.

It was like our normal way of life, whoever is the last to come home gets to shout 'I'm home' to notify the other person. And my Dad never disappoints.

"Hey Dad", I met him with a smile and a warm hug

"How was the new school?", He asked me while  fishing out the take out he bought on his way home. I think I should advice him to learn how to cook, we can't continue living off of ordered food.

"It's amazing Dad", I replied enthusiastically

"Oh really?, Tell me about it", he smiled, encouraging me to continue

"Everyone was welcoming, and I made new friends and I'm pretty sure I have a new best friend already, she has shown me all I need to know about the school and she also told me there is a policy against bullying, so, I'm rest assured that no one is going to bully me", I said all in one breath making my Dad chuckle.

"Well, I'm glad you were able to make friends, feel among and I'm exceptionally happy about that no bullying policy, because I can be rest assured that my baby girl is safe"

"Of course Dad, I'm safe", I told him.

"Okay, let's eat, so you can do your homework"

"Okay, Dad", I saluted him and he smiled

"Oh yeah, before I forget Dad, my new friend, Allyson invited me to this after school concert in town, she said she already has the tickets, I just have to make myself available immediately after school tomorrow, but I need your permission", I gave him my best 'puppy' eyes so he can give in to me

"It's okay sweetie, I'll give you some money in case you guys have something to buy", he smiled at me sweetly. Whatever I'm doing to deserve such a good Dad, I pray I don't stop anytime soon.

"Okay Dad, I love you"

"Love you too Angel"

Now, that I think about it, my Dad has never denied me anything, I remember asking him once, and he told me he doesn't want me to feel motherless, he wants to perform both mother and father role very well, and I must say he's doing exceptionally well. He is the best anyone could ask for.

I finished my homework in no time, and it was off to bed, lights out and zzzzzzzz 😴.

I could have sworn I slept just now, and my alarm is already going off?, What did I do wrong?, Ugh!!!. I did not want to get up, but I did anyways, can't go disappointing my dad now can I?. Nope!

"Morning Dad"

"Morning Angel", he replied

"I'm ready", I told him

"Okay, let's go", he paused to take out his wallet before handing me some cash "here you go, for whatever you wanna buy".

"Thanks Dad", I hugged him "now let's go get breakfast"

We walked out of the house, locked the door and drove off to the the restaurant we had breakfast at yesterday. I must admit, I love their menu their, and seeing the look on my dad's face, I can say he does too.

"Alright baby girl, be good and have a nice day at school", my dad patted my head, gave me a kiss before letting me out if the car.

"Alright Dad, have a good day too", I waved him off.

Have a nice day at school?, I asked myself, who has a nice day at school?, No one, that's who,all we do is study study study, what is so nice about studying?.
