Chapter One

A soft sigh slips through my lips as my head jolts to the bumps in the road. Whispers of wind fly through my hair messing it up slightly. Music blasts into my ears through my favourite earbuds, making the scenery a little less boring. the grass varies and some of the critters are cute. The anticipation is killing me. 

I raise my phone ever so slightly.

8:33 am.

Only a couple of minutes to go. Returning to the boarding school is both a blessing and a curse. I get to be away from my annoying little brother but my friends aren't my friends anymore.. A lot happened that day.. But that story is for another time.

Putting my phone down I rummage through my backpack for my information slip. Every year our dorm room changes and every year I still get confused about where it is. Tugging at the slip I read through the monotonous introduction. Finally, I find my dorm, I make a mental note to check the map and dorm again when I get there. My memory isn't very reliable.

I pull out my earbuds, slipping them into their case to let them charge. I look back out the window smiling as I hear nature. It's pleasant, not as good as my music but it isn't torture. The birds chirping and the wind making the trees move is nature's song.

I lean to the side peeking out my window to see the front. I smile softly seeing the boarding school in the distance. Time for a new experience. I am happy that I get a new experience, something different, something without them..

I move back in grabbing my bags pulling them closer to me ever so slightly making sure I am ready. With a swift turn, we make it to the boarding school entrance. Many expensive and luxurious cars are driving and pulling away. As soon as we come to a stop I rip off my seatbelt and open the doors, not forgetting to grab my bags.

"Thank you for driving me here, Xian"

In response I got a soft nod, he's not much of a talker. I grab my bags and suitcases pushing them onto the stone pathway. I close the door, giving him a slight wave before he heads off. The air is so different around here, it's clean and.. Fresh. I unfold my trolley and put my bags on it. It is so important to bring your own trolley, that way you don't need to haul your heavy bags around. After making sure my bags are secure I grab the trolley handle and I make my way through the extensive gate. Even Though I haven't been here since June, this place still gives me the cosy vibes I got on my first day. I breathe in deep, following the familiar stone path towards the dorm room buildings, even in September nature still thrives. Like this place has magic that keeps the plants alive for a little bit longer.

A grin rests on my face as I see other students making their way around. Some with bags, some without. The boarding school re-painted and re-decorated the dorm rooms while we were away. The buildings are now a creamy colour with vines travelling up them like they're in a race to see who can get to the top fastest. It's so new it feels like it should be in a Barbie movie. I make my way to the dorm buildings upon arrival. I check my slip again to see where I will be living.

Dorm building 3, Floor 5, Room 151.

Fuck, really? The top floor? Why do I have to be on the top floor..

I groan softly, dragging my trolley with my bags up the stairs and into the building. Even though the three buildings are identical, they aren't the same. I look around searching for the elevator and I make my way over. Before I step in, a beautiful girl with blonde hair steps out walking past, without even glancing at me. Damn.. Why is everyone here so gorgeous? Walking in I put all my bags in a corner and I click the button to my floor. I distract myself with my phone till I make it to my dorm room. I look at the door putting my phone away.

I wonder who my roommate is?

I open the door and walk in looking around seeing a tan girl with black hair and a cute mole on her cheek. She's sitting on the floor with her bags around her playing something on her phone. I drag my trolley with my bags onto the other side of the room, closing the door with my foot. I look over at her as she's too engrossed in her game to notice me.

"Uh.. Hello?"

The girl peeks up from her phone and rushes to get up, her face turning bright red.

"Hey! I'm so sorry I didn't notice you.."

She mumbles something to herself but I'm not sure what she said. A grin rests on her face as she looks at me.

"It's nice to meet you! I was wondering who my roomie is, I'm happy you're nice. I'm Hwasa"

I nod slightly smiling at her youthful goofiness. I have a feeling we are going to get on well.

"Nice to meet you, I'm (YN). I was wondering too, it seems you have a lot of luggage. Are you hiding a body in there or something?"

A giggle escapes my lips seeing many bags on her side of the room.

"Ah no, just lots of clothes, and a lion but you'll see her later"

I nod slightly confused by her last statement. I look around the room sitting on my bed. God how are these beds so comfy.. The room is rather big with two single beds, two desks, two dressers and two wardrobes. It is very plain, everything is either white or cream. It doesn't suit my colour palette.

"It's a bit boring here.."

I glance over at Hwasa seeing her dumping one of her suitcases out. Millions of varying decorations fall out and onto the ground in front of us.

"Wow.. You came prepared huh?"

Hwasa nods grinning going through the multitude of decorations she has.

"Well we always need decorations for our room to look better, what theme should we go with?"

I think, getting the decorations I brought with me too.

"Let's see what looks best"

"Well, I think we did an amazing job, and we even have a minifridge for snacks"

Hwasa grins flopping onto her bed immediately getting comfy. I grin sitting on my bed looking around. It is really cute, I am so glad to have her as a roommate..

"So, I guess we are friends then."

Hwasa nods softly agreeing

"Friends"
