Finding work and a strange neighbour

Jakob finish reading the letter and looked at the other things in the tornister. (Okay the Knife is really sharp and doesnt seems to get dull, good for cooking. The flask doesnt run empty once i fill it with something to drink and the notebook seems to have infinity pages. The Book is like a e reader who can copy books in it to read, got for long waiting times. The rest is normal without anything special. Magic is real what comes next Aliens attacking the earth  like in Mars Attacks or Dr Jekylland Mr. Hide in real life?)

Time to search for work, best would be one where I could use my power without people learning that I can speak all Languages. I dont want to have the CIA standing on my doormat to kidnap and research on me.

After a few days job searching and job interviews he worked now as a freelancer interpreter and translator for different international companys via a agentur but mostly for SI. Jakob worked mainly from home glad to avoid the cubicle horror of open plan offices sucking away your sanity from 9 to 5.

17.1. 2008  Jakob was woken up trough a loud nise outside. A look at his alarm clock later (Seven in in the morning, who is making so much noise at this time.) he stand by his door looking at people moving furniture to the house beside him.

A few hours working later somebody rings the doorbell, outside stands a bald black man with an eyepatch. With a appraising look he starts talking to Jakob: "Hello i am your new neighbour Fury. Do you have some coffe i could drink until my house is furnished?" Jakob after processing this strange greeting said: "Yes come in" Fury enters the house and walks to the Kitchen, runmble trough the room and making himself a cup before sitting down. Jakob (I will never understand how people can drink coffe instead of black tea, good that I have some for visitors. He looks like a pirate.)

Fury: "Nice house you have, it looks like it stood still in time with all the old furniture."

Jakob: "Thank you, luckly I got my  whole house furnishing in art nouveau  from an auction after the dead from an german immigrant who fled from the nazis back in 1935 to New York from Hamburg."

Fury: after thinking for some time: "So it could also look like a house from the 1940 for a person living back then?"

Jakob wonders about the question: "Yeah but is that important that it could look like that?"

Fury: "No I just thought about an unlikely case, its not important."

Jakob: "Do you work for at a museum that you know how a home in the forties would look like?"

Fury: "I just have an  acguaintance who is a big Fan of Captain America and also knows alot about this time. What is your profession that you have to afford such living?"

Jakob: "Translator and writer of Manuals, mostly for Stark Industries. The job pays got enough,  especially if you speak such difficult languages like Paschto and Dari the languages from Afghanistan!"

Nick stood up, finished with his coffee and left after thanking Jakob. In the next few months Fury often visited Jakob for food and drinks. Jakob gave him a key to the house after Fury left himself in one day and scared Jakob almost to death. The first thing in the morning to see after waking up is not your neighbor eating  breakfast  and emptying the coffee stock.

After watching  Jakob while working, Fury  noticed that he could easly translate no matter how bad the audio quality or accent was. In  May happend the unthinkable, Tony Stark was taken as a Prisoner  by  the ten rings a terror network from  Afgahnistan. Many voices said that he was attacked with weapons his company  sold to them.

Nick Furys pov, a few weeks after the Tony Stark acident: He almost lost his voice this morning after screaming profanities for 10 minutes straight at SHIELD translators because nobody could understand what the other extremists in the background said. Finally he rememberd Jakob talent and decided to let  him listen to the audio, hopping that he understood more then the SHIELD translators.

Jakob understood every word spoken and could say the approxarea where Stark would be and that he should built a weapon for them. Fury wanted to start with a new search and  rescue operation  but meanwhile Tony Stark saved himeself  with great cost to his body and soul.

 The world hade the new hero IRON MAN and he would not be controled by anybody.
