Meeting with the Seven

The sun was shining as I flew through the air towards Vought headquarters. It had been a day since I had agreed to fight over seas and today, I would be having a meeting with the rest of the Seven. This meeting was something I expected would explain my loss the rest of the group, if they don't already know.

I entered the building to the happy greeting of the workers as they saw my now famous silver armor. I quickly walked past them, dropping a quick good morning as I left and entered the elevator.

I soon walked to my seat in the meeting room of the Seven, the greatest heroes on the planet. Soon, everyone had arrived and I noticed how empty the room was. Only, I also noticed a surprising guest in the room, A-Train. He had been kicked off of the team due to health problems, or at least that's what I had heard.

I wasn't exactly close to the man. We had never really talked outside of business meetings, so I wondered what he could possibly be doing back here. Honestly, he wasn't even really a hero anymore. I hadn't even seen him doing any heroing at all lately.

But I stayed silent until the meeting began, sure that it would all be explained. Then I received another surprise, Stan Edgar walked into the room. Judging by the expression on the faces of the rest of the Seven, they were just as surprised.

"Hello, everyone. Today I will be leading this meeting of... heroes."

Then Homelander stood up, "That's always been my job, I am leader of the Seven!" He said annoyed.

"That you may be, but regardless I have important news to share, so I shall be leading this mission." He said, brushing off Homelanders statements. "Now, a few things that need to be discussed. First, A-Train will be rejoining the Seven as a result of Stormfronts recent, loss. And because we need to appeal to the people's... sensibilities. He shall increase our... diversity, which is apparently a popular thing to have in today's political environment."

Homelander, now growing past annoyance into anger started to speak, "The membership of the Seven has always been my up to me and I'm the one who wanted A-Train off the team. The Seven are supposed to be the best, and A-Train is definitely not the best anymore. He can barely f*ing run with all the drugs he's shot up."

Edgar just looked at him with a raised eyebrow, "Regardless, we do not need him for his speed, but for his trademark. We need goodwill right now due to your mistakes, and A-Train could help us with that."

He then continued, now having moved past any objections, regardless of the anger on Homelanders face. "Now onto the second, and slightly more important point. Metallic here," Edgar said pointing to me, "has recently agreed to be sent overseas on an extended mission to help the military. The public has no problems with his help fighting overseas and if he is successful, we may, in the future, gain future similar contracts."

Homelander moves to speak before he is interrupted once more by Edgar, "This shall also help your own publicity Homelander, by drawing attention off of you for a time and onto more military matters while he fights overseas. So please wish your teammate luck on his future mission."

Homelander now sat down, looking deep in thought at this revelation, apparently not having been informed of this beforehand.

Edgar continued, "Something that was not discussed in our previous meeting Metallic, is another reason I want you fighting overseas."

This caught my attention. "As I'm sure you've all noticed, somehow Compound V has gotten itself in the hands of many enemies, both foreign such as terrorists, and as domestic as a common criminal."

Everyone in the room leaned forward to listen. "You will all have to focus harder now on taking out these... villains." Edgar said. "And your role, Metallic, will be to take out these foreign enemies. If we can show the world that we are the only group that can be trusted take out these new super powered foes than the benefit we could gain would be... immense."
