One Final Note

Chapter 4: Place of thought

Susan's P.O.V.

I wake up to see wires attached to me. I'm in an unfamiliar white room. I try to get up but my rib hurts. I look down to see blood on my rib but there is a bandage covering it. I look around to see Daniel holding my hand. I snatched my hand away but he didn't wake up. I only realized that I'm in a hospital. I try to stand up but it's too painful. I can't feel my leg, it's like it's broken. There's a cast on it so that must be an explanation. I can still feel it and move it but it's painful. I try to process on what happened. I remember Daniel kissing another girl and I was running away and I saw a car approaching me. I got run over by a car and it was because of Daniel. He kissed another girl and then I ran away. My eyes were too blurry from the tears that I didn't pay attention to the car honking at me. I have bruises, cuts all over me. Daniel starts waking up and I suddenly feel scared. He looks at me with very red and puffy eyes. He has dried tear stains. He looks so pale and thin. His hair is messy, he has eye bags and he looks like it was the first time he slept for like a week.

Daniel: Hey

Susan: Hi, how did I end up here?

Daniel: You were in the street and you were hit by a car.

Susan: Why do you look like that?

Daniel: You had a coma for 2 weeks.

Susan: Wait so you've been here for 2 weeks.

Daniel: I came every day and I don't like to eat or sleep until I know that you're okay.

Susan: Shouldn't you go to your girlfriend?

Daniel: We're not dating.

Susan: Well, you kissed her right in front of me. (starts to cry but quickly wipes tear away)

Daniel: It's not like that. Please, let me explain.

Susan: Go ahead.

Daniel: All right, I guess I got caught up in the moment. I promise it meant nothing. She was just helping me reaherse for our date because I have this feeling that I was going to mess up and I wouldn't want that to happen on the real date.

Susan: Ok, I believe you. Can you ask the doctor on when I can leave?

Daniel: Sure. (walks out for 5 minutes). He said that you can go now but you just have to take it easy and you have to use crutches because of your leg.

Susan: Can you get my clothes from my bag?

Daniel: Sure. I'll be outside if you need any help. (walks out)

Susan: (changes and goes outside) Come on, let's go.

Daniel: So where do you want to go?

Susan: I don't know probably somewhere relaxing.

Daniel: Come with me. I know the right place for that.

Daniel's P.O.V.

We were in my car driving to this place. I call my 'place of thought'. This is usually where I go to find inspiration for my songs or to calm down when I'm stressed. I was supposed to take Susan here for our date before she got hit by a car.

On the way there, we were just quiet. None of us wanted to say a word so it's a little awkward. I shouldn't have kissed Elizabeth so none would've happened. I was caught up in the moment and when I kissed her, there wasn't any sparks.

I stopped the car at the park and judging by Alison's look, she didn't want to be here. This was the same park where I kissed Elizabeth so it brings back memories that she doesn't want to remember. There is a waterfall at the far back of the park. I used to sit at the rocks behind the waterfall and just look at the presence of nature. I didn't tell anyone about this place except Susan.

Daniel: This is it.

Susan: I don't want to be here.

Daniel: I know but there is something I want you to see and if you don't like it, we can go.

Susan: Ok, fine.

Susan's P.O.V.

I don't know where we're going. This place is like a flood of memories that I don't want to remember. I trust Daniel so I'm just going to go with it.

Susan: Where are we going?

Daniel: To my 'place of thought'.

Susan: And where is that?

Daniel: Here. (points at the waterfall)

Susan: This is.........
