Flashback to the Infinity War battle:
"VISION!" Wanda gutturally screamed.
Her loud scream woke you out of your unconscious state. You blinked a couple of times, your gaze facing the tree line above. Your back was on the dirt, having taken a stab into the arm. You cradled it, trying to minimize the blood loss. Ever since the serum had left your system, though you were still strong and agile due to the SKH gene, you were still one of the most human out of all of the Avengers.
You weakly turned your head towards Wanda. She was on the ground, tears streaming down her face. Thanos was right next to her, writhing in pain as veins of gold seemed to travel all over his body.
You felt a stab in your heart. That could only mean one thing.
You looked a little further and saw Vision on the dirt, now gray and lifeless.
"Vision?" you cried weakly.
"Your friend here made a sacrifice that is required to save humanity," Thanos declared, walking over to you.
He knelt down on one knee and stroked your face with his large, purple hand. You nearly gagged. How could this alien even live with himself?
You spat at his feet and made your way to your knees as well, seething when you put pressure on your arm and your leg. You must have broken that as well. You were face to face with the Titan, and for the first time during the whole war with Thanos, you didn't feel small.
Being around the Avengers and being without powers made you feel that way. The Avengers loved and accepted you for your other abilities, but it was still tough sometimes being around people with super brains, capabilities, or strength. There was only so much you could do.
"I hope you realize the hypocrisy and your thinking. Saving humanity by killing it doesn't make any sense," you spat. No one else seemed to see what was going on -- they were either mourning, injured, or fighting off one of Thanos' soldiers.
Thanos smirked. "Strong until the last," he said, raising up his hand, admiring his collection of stones.
Irrationally, you gave a yell and attempted to grab one of the stones. You knew that it wouldn't work, but any time you could spend stalling the guaranteed outcome was a win in your book. Thanos caught your arm and threw you aside.
"I admire your persistence, 'Earth's mightiest heroes,' but ---"
He was immediately stopped mid-sentence by a large axe. Thanos' head slid off his body and hit the ground with a thunk.
Thor had arrived.

Present Day:
Tony pulled a box from his pocket and opened it. A blue stone softly glowed inside of the box.
"The space stone was the only one I couldn't destroy."
You felt your heart sink. You hated that an infinity stone still existed, but what angered you even more was the fact that the stone that did exist wasn't the mind stone.
"So Vision...?"
Tony nodded. "His funeral was real. I brought up the possibility of bringing him back to Wanda, but she wanted the stone destroyed."
"Really?"
"Yeah. She said that they had already said their goodbyes. She said that Vision wouldn't have wanted to put the world at risk again. Besides, if I did rebuild Vision, he wouldn't have remembered any of this. His brain was destroyed when Thanos pulled the stone from his head."
