"We made a deal Jane." He mummered more to me than my mom.

He had me up so close to his body that I could feel his heart beat through his thin black V-Neck shirt, a comforting smell clung to it and it took all of my will not to smuggle myself into his broad chest.

"Please!" My mom gasped for air, tears steamed down her cheeks, "Let her go, she's all I have!"

"And she's all I want, and after all, a deal is a deal. "

My mom shook her head in denial. "Deals off!"

My mom ran towards me and held out her hand. I reached out but Seth yanked me back.

"She's mine. You promised." His voice seemed to have a hopeless alnost psychotic edge.

"What the hell is going on!?" I stumbled on my words. I stepped onto my toes trying to look over the psychos tall frame. He held both hands out caging me in behind him. What deal were they talking about? Did my mom really trade me? Questions bombarded like fireworks all around me, and fear gathered in my throat.

"You my darling are coming with me, I'm sure Seth and Jane have to discuss some issues!" The boy I came to know as Embry clung onto the hood of my sweatshirt and pulled me away towards the darkness of a grove.

"I'm so sorry." My mom yelled after me.

"Stop!" I swatted at his face hoping one of my hopeless punches would come in contact with his pretty face.

I had never felt so helpless somehow my feet had a mind of it's own and no matter how loud my mind screamed for my feet to take hold they seemed to walk willingly through the damp earth.

"Embry please!" I begged as my mom's voice became distant. Even Seth's huge, muscular frame became faint.

"I'm sorry sugar, the Alpha's orders were clear."

Alpha?

"What the fuck you are a freak!" I yelled.

"In the bed." He snickered. I let my weight fall onto the ground but without results. Embry just dragged me along as if I was a rag doll instead of a 120 pound teenage girl.

"You know, I actually thought we were never going to find you."

"What are you talking about?"

He stopped abruptly, letting my drop onto the ground. He had his back to me.

This was my chance...

"Think about it, do you really want to do that?"

He knelt down beside me. "You really don't know what's going on do you?"

I shook my head.

A slight look of pity crossed his eyes, before his eyes flickered behind me.

"Seth I think we have a problem."
