Chapter 2

"I'm sorry Hailee." Mother apologized. She didn't take her eyes off the road, mom was never the sentimental type, just like me.

Curiosity leaked within me and I could help but let the question slip from my lips.  "What are we running away from?"

This time my mom whipped her head in ny direction, here eyes looked concerned but her voice was stern, "We aren't. "

"Come on mom, we both know we are,  is it my dad?"

"Hailee!" She yelled, "What gives you the right to bombard me with questions!" The car swerved,  "Your dad left us!" She screeched the wheels to an abrupt stop.

"Are we staying here?" I asked surprised.

A little cottage sat on the small hill. A Lightly lit open sign stood at the window welcoming stranger like us to come in.

"Yes just for tonight." She said shortly, she stepped out of the car, the slamming of the door made me jump out of my skin.

She knocked on my window."Wait here."

I rolled my eyes and buried myself into the seat, my back to the window. 

She knocked the window agian, I rolled my eyes and decided to ignore her.

Tap tap.

I huffed.

Tap tap tap.

I swung the door open. "What the fuck do you want?!"

"Look at that Seth she's a wild one." A low voice chuckled.

"Shut up Embry." A lower, darker voice hissed back.

I stepped out of the car, officially pissed, "What do you ass holes want?"

One of the guys walked towards me and leaned onto the car door, closing it behind me. "You know I don't remember you being such a potty mouth "

"And I don't remember you at all." I clenched my fists. One of the most useful things my mom had taught me was self defense and I was ready to knock this guy out.

He threw his head back with laughter letting me catch a glimpse of his face;  Holy shit Brad Pitt had nothing on this guy. "I liked you better when you could speak, except your crying was annoying as fuck. Do you still suck on your thumb? Or do you like sucking something else."

Before I could process my actions my fist collided onto his tall cheekbone.

"Shit!" He yelled taking a step back.

"I told you to leave her alone."

The other boy walked out from the shadows. Well man, he held so much authority in his voice even I wanted tk bow down at his grace.

"Who the fuck are you?" I asked.

"Se-."

"Seth! Get way from her!" My mom ran towards us. "Get away from him Hailee." She didn't have to tell me twice, I blasted at full speed but Seth caught me my the waist and slammed me back into him.

"We made a deal Jane."
