Day 29,296
A ray of sunshine passes through the opening of the dark blue velvet curtains. It tickles the white eyelid, that opens to a purple iris. Lilea strokes her own lips. She frowns. She scans her room, squinting at the wall next to the door. The sun is up, her Night Guard is already gone. She sits up, swings her legs off the side of the levitating bed and delicately jumps on the floor. She's only wearing panties, her translucent skin reflecting the light. Her two white hair pieces are unbraided, blending with her lilac hair that covers her naked breast. She walks towards her windows and opens the curtains to let the sun illuminate the room. She takes a look outside.
Grey clouds cover the ground so thoroughly that she can't even distinguish the horizon. Some treetops poke here and there, showing that there is a forest lying under this thick coat of fog. The sun is facing her, shy, his light almost white.
She opens the large chest between the windows and throws her clothes in the air. She grabs a brown floaty dress that she slides onto her body. She takes a quick look at herself in the mirror across the room and grabs the white hair on the sides of her face. With agility and high speed she braids it, and brushes the rest with her fingers. She moves to her floating bed and opens a drawer in a small nightstand. A mingle of jewelry sits there, waiting to be untangled. Only a leather string with a green gemstone is apart. She takes it and walks out of her bedroom.
She enters the large dining room, barefoot. The sun faces the window all the way to the right, bathing the large table with its shine. The immense trunk of one of the patio's trees faces the left window, showing its branches through the middle window, giving a light green color to the sunlight.
Armita stands on her three-stepped stool, flowers blooming around her feet. Her white silky hair is divided into two braids rolled in low buns against the nape of her neck. Her long white eyelashes glow under the sunlight. As always she wears a simple cotton brown dress with a white apron covering the front from chest to toes. She doesn't flinch at the sound of Lilea's steps, kneading the dough in front of her. She adds more flour to it.
"Good morning, Armita." says Lilea, kissing the elf on the forehead.
"You slept in once again, Princess." points out the Nanny without looking at her.
"It's not that late, is it?"
"You've got your lesson in ten minutes."
"I'm early then!" Lilea winks at Armita, who finally looks up, and steals a piece of dough. The small lady sighs.
"Druid Uderz is not going to be happy, Princess."
"He's never happy. Anyway, I don't see why I have to train without my magic."
Armita frowns. "It is precisely because you don't have common magic that you need to train, Princess."
"It just feels like a step backward. Not even a step, a huge leap."
"It's only been three months since your rejection. You'll become stronger and stronger with time. You might even become more powerful than your Mother one day."
"Right." replies Lilea with a sarcastic tone.
The elf agitates her fingers and a branch puts the dough on a plate. With a flick of her wrist, it takes it to the middle window sill and sets it in the sunlight.
"You need to have faith, Princess." Armita steps down her stool and takes Lilea's hand to guide her to the large table next to the third window. "Magic has its own ways. Elhurians are blessed with it from birth, and are even lucky enough to share it with each other."
