Curing the Pain: A Rainbow Six Siege Story

Chapter 11

I open the door and there stood an Asian woman with a beanie on her head, with a JTF2 patch on her shoulder. She's part of the Joint Task Force 2, she's Canadian.

The lady looks at me with a look of shock and awe. "Oh my god. You're back! I can't believe it!" She tells me. "Uhhh. Hi. Who are you?" I ask her. "Oh forgive me for being rude, I'm Tina Tsang or Frost. I'm Eliza's best friend." She tells me. "I guess you already know who I am by your reaction." I tell her.

"Yes of course. Eliza doesn't stop talking about you. She's been devastated since you got injured. She hasn't been the same since." She says sadly.

You caused her pain. You've been bad. You need to punish yourself. She's probably said only bad things about you. There's nothing good about you. Just a husk.

I guess I was staring unfocused when I'm taking out of my depressive thoughts by Tina calling out my name. "Y/N are you ok?" She asks me concerned. "Yeah, it just feels weird to be back." I tell her. She nods in understanding. "Well I would feel weird too when you get blown up by a suicide bomber." She half jokes at me. I chuckle and sit down on my bed.

I start feeling the fabric again. I see that my bed is relatively untouched, but my pillow is on Eliza's bed. That's weird. I grab my pillow from her bed and put it back on mine.

"Ya know, Eliza missed you so much. I don't think I've ever see her that devastated before. She really cares about you." She tells me with a smile. I smile back at her. I look around for Eliza but she's not here. "Where's Eliza?" I ask Tina.

"Oh she's in the shower. I've been staying in your room since the incident. She was inconsolable for a couple of weeks. Don't worry I didn't sleep in your bed. I slept on the couch." She tells me. "Thanks." I tell her. She nods and sighs. "Thank god I can leave this room now. No offense but it's not my girlfriend and I's room."

"So who's the lucky lady?" I ask her teasingly but also intrigued. Tina blushes and says, "I don't know if you meet her but her name is Meghan or Valkyrie on the field. She's a Navy Seal."

Wow. Her girlfriend is a Navy Seal. That's awesome.

"That's amazing, Tina. I'm happy for you. How long have you two dated?" I ask her.

"We've been dating for 3 1/2 years. I couldn't have met a better woman in my life. She's amazing." She says with pure happiness. I nod with a smile and we continue talking until the shower door opens.

Out comes Eliza in a t shirt, shorts, and a hat. However, what causes me pain is that she has bags under eyes, even with the hat on, and looks like she hasn't had a decent sleep in a long time. She looks paler as well. Even when she looks like that, she's still gorgeous.

That's because of you. You made her this way.

"Hey Tina, I was wond-" Eliza begins to say but she's interrupted by seeing me. She doesn't say anything. Neither do Tina and I. "Well, I guess this is my cue to leave. I had a nice chat. See you later, Y/N." Tina says as she hurriedly leaves the room and closes the door.

I didn't even get to say goodbye.

I look at Ash and she's looking at me with an emotionless expression. It's like she's trying to figure out what to say and do. She puts her hat down more on her head as far as it can go and she has head down slightly so I can't see her eyes.

"Hey Eliza. Umm it's nice to see." I say to her trying to at least get a reaction from her. She doesn't say anything. "How have you been?" I ask her. I finally get a reaction from her and she starts walking towards me.

She's going to yell at you and tell you how much she hates you for causing her pain. It's all your fault.

I shake my head to get rid of those thoughts as Eliza is now standing in front of me as I'm sitting at end of my bed. "Eliza, are you okay?" I ask her concerned. She starts shaking and I hear sniffling coming from her. I don't say or do anything, I don't know what to do. Eliza picks her head up and I see she has tears running down her cheeks. She has a look of relief on her face.

She crouches down and puts a hand on cheek and asks me, "Is it really you, Y/N?" I start tearing up at the affectionate gesture and I put my hand on hers. "Yes, Eliza." I tell her as we look at each other making eye contact. She then jumps on to me as I fall down with her on the bed, my back on the bed and Eliza on top of me.

She puts her head and hands on my chest and starts sobbing. I put my hands on her back and rub her back to calm her down. "It's ok. I'm here. I'm back." I keep telling her as she continues sobbing. She must have had these emotions bottled up for so long.

I'm so sorry.

She stops her sobbing and she puts her head off my chest to look at me. Even when she's crying she's still amazing. She puts both her hands on cheeks and rubs her thumbs on my cheeks. We look at each other and smile. "I missed you so much." She told me in a strained voice.

She's lying to you. She only misses you because she didn't get to say how much she hates you.

I start tearing up from the voice and I can't stop the tears from falling down. I start crying from the voice. Ash hates me.

I know it's weak for a man to cry or show emotions.

But I can't help but listen to the voice. It's words. How it makes me feel.

"Shhhh, y/n. It's ok. I missed you fucking so much. There wasn't a day that went by which I didn't visit you in the infirmary." Ash tells me and it just makes me cry more. I wrap my arms around her and bring her in more. I stop crying and we look at each other.

Ash then moves her hear closer to mine and brings her lips closer to me.

There is no way she's going to kiss me.

She puts her lips on my right cheek and kisses it. I blush madly. "That's for saving me." She tells me with a smile. "I didn't have any hesitation. I knew I had to save you." I told her. "When you got blown up and went through that wall, I thought you were dead. There was so much blood." She told me looking me in the eye.

Too bad it didn't kill you. You would've made everyone's life better. Eliza would've been so happy that you died.

I start shaking and avert my eyes to look somewhere else. "Hey, look at me." Eliza tells me as she forces me to look her in the eye. "I know you are having internal thoughts, but know that I care deeply for you and so do others." She says with a genuine smile and I smile as well. We talk more about other things and realize it's time to sleep.

What shocks me is that Eliza wants to stay on top of me and sleep with me. "I want to stay here, Y/N. In your arms, I want to know that this isn't a dream." She tells me. "Of course, Eliza." I tell her. I put the covers over us and Ash has her head under my chin and falls asleep with me having my arms around her with a smile on my face.

What a fucking day.
