Dissociating is one of the most common responses to abuse and trauma. It can involve finding yourself staring at one spot, not thinking anything, feeling as if you've just experienced a flashback but can't remember anything about it or completely forgetting what you were thinking just a second ago.. Maybe. even feeling detached from your body.

Ways to start feeling again

Sit in the sun without anything to do, feel the heat of the rays hit your Skin and the wind in your face Walk around barefoot and try to feel as much of the ground under your feet. Notice every rock and blade of grass

Stay away from, drugs and alcohol. Try to be as aware and present as you can. Stop trying to numb and dull your senses

Eat some meals without any distractions notice every bite and taste every flavor Lightly run your fingers across your arms, barely touching them. Notice how it feels and how goosebumps Starts forming
