That was the note scribbled in loopy handwriting under the windscreen wipers of Sam Lane's car.
Crumpled from were it had been placed in between the two of his windscreen wipers at the front window of his car.
Sam rubbed his eyes recognising the names written on the thin bible like book paper.
'Bill And Martha Stewart, the first missing persons to call the multiple kidnappings to my attention.'
He almost thought he had hallucinated the lead in the case.
Having spent the last night down in the hospital's moratory with John Henry.
Who had by that point called in some of Sam's own men to drag the ever persistent Sam Lane out of the hospital in order to go home and not come back for 'at least eight hours.'
Rereading over the note Sam's eyes caught on the name at the top of the page 'Morgan Edge'.
'No one else knows that he's a suspect'
Sam got in his car and folded the note back up and tucked it into his left pocket.
'We have only just gotten the information ourselves, for someone else to know well that just doesn't add up'
Sam thought back through the day wondering what might have given a someone unaffiliated with the case, the knowledge that the Edge was somehow connected to the case.
'Morgan's workers?'
'No, the only one that could have known something was Mark Johnson ... and he's dead.'
'So that rules that out.'
Sam racked his brain on everything that had led up to him being put in charge of the case.
'Where have I heard Edge's name before all of this?'
'From Lois yes, that was a given with all the articles she had written about Edge ... but also from -'
