STORY 4
"Mr. and Mrs. Stone?" A young, preppy nurse called from the front desk, clicking away at hundreds of newcomer's profiles. A new couple arose from the corner of the lobby; a tall man wearing business attire and a serious expression took the hand of his beautiful, yet worried, wife who was expecting a child.
The nurse looked up at the couple with a smile, before examining them and handing the wife a single piece of paper. "Sign this, and you may proceed through the door to the left. When you enter, wait for further instruction."
The couple spared a single shaky glace at each other before signing the contract that would determine the rest of their lives. As promised, they were greeted with further instructions on the other side. They were then led to a smaller room with huge screens instead of walls. Almost like windows. An official, a serious older woman wearing a ridiculously expensive uniform that all the higher positioned persons wore, spoke first, "Welcome, I am doctor Charmaine, and as you may know that here at FuturePersona we offer the most prestigious life paths and child development courses,"
The couple sat quietly across from the official as she continued, "and we take pride in allowing all guardian role models to take part in the choosing of your child's---the leaders of tomorrow---job status, certain personalities, and who they will be out there." She paused, gesturing to beyond.
Mr. and Mrs. Stone felt unsure, possibly scared. These small choices now will determine the well being of their beloved baby on the way. What if they choose wrong? What if they set their child up for failure? Every move they make in this very room can mean the world for the future.
"Are you ready to begin?" The woman asks, grinning.
"Of-course." Says the wife quickly, then takes the hand of her husband.
